The sibling duo behind a business turning used coffee grounds into skincar=
e products say raising more than =C2=A3200=2C000 through crowdfunding help=
ed to take their brand to the next level.

far helped to save more than a hundred tonnes of coffee grounds that woul=
d otherwise have been sent to landfill.
Having launched their business =E2=80=93 then called Optiat =E2=80=93 in 2=
016=2C with the help of a Start Up Loan from Virgin StartUp=2C they had in=
itial success with listings in Waitrose=2C Whole Foods=2C Urban Outfitters=
and Topshop. But=2C after being part of our crowdfunding accelerator prog=
ramme=2C CrowdBoost=2C Anna and William were ready to up their game.

s. Anna says preparation is key to any crowdfunding campaign.
She said:
=E2=80=9CCrowdBoost enabled us to raise capital via crowdfunding in an eff=
icient and streamlined way that made the whole process a lot more pleasant=
than it might have been.
"This capital has then enabled us to rebrand=2C implementing all the lesso=
ns that we learnt during our first two years=2C and then relaunch the busi=
ness. Our brand has really catapulted forwards in the last year.
=E2=80=9CMost of the work is done in the preparation =E2=80=93 in reality=
=2C the pitch going live is the culmination of six months=E2=80=99 hard wo=
rk=2C prior. Crowdfunding is a great way to raise money=2C but you need to=
be prepared and have certain foundations ready - such as cornerstone inve=
stors - prior to going live.=E2=80=9D

ramme=2C CrowdBoost=2C Anna and William were ready to up their game.</div>
