British artist Terry Flaxton (b. 1953) initially worked with sound
composition, photography and film, developing a particular interest in
analogue video during the 1970s. He received a BA Hons in Communication
Design in 1979 and spent over 30 years working as a cinematographer. His
work today focuses on durational forms of the digital including sound,
video, print and installation.

In his new series Reimagining the already Imagined, Terry Flaxton has
developed a collage form which could be called cinemontage or perhaps
datamontage. Technically in this piece there are over 100 High Definition
images which require their own layer on a 4k timeline. A lot of rendering
time was necessary to output what is seen in Reimagining New York. Initially
the image is stable and then slowly reveals – both upwards and downwards on
both sides of the screen - the entire contents of the timeline.

<em>Reimagining the already Imagined</em>, Terry Flaxton has developed a =
collage form which could be called cinemontage or perhaps datamontage. =
Technically in this piece there are over 100 High Definition images =
which require their own layer on a 4k timeline. A lot of rendering time =
was necessary to output what is seen in <em>Reimagining New York</em>. =
Initially the image is stable and then slowly reveals =E2=80=93 both =
upwards and downwards on both sides of the screen - the entire contents =
of the timeline.</p>
