This project investigates the destructive and healing legacy of radiation=
=2C honouring the trees that survived an atomic bomb and a choir of cancer=
survivors who learnt to sing after the removal of their voiceboxes. It ra=
ises funds and awareness for the charity Shout at Cancer.

Philip Clemo is a UK-based multi-disciplinary artist=2C working in film=2C=
composition=2C sound-design and live performance. In his visual work Clem=
o explores perception=2C abstraction and where the boundaries of familiari=
ty begin to break down. He uses cutting-edge and novel technologies to cap=
ture imagery on scales from cosmic worlds in petri-dishes and extreme clos=
e-up motion-control journeys over human bodies to gyro-stabilised helicopt=
er imagery of Icelandic geothermal fields.

From Silence Into Song marks the 75th anniversary of the catastrophic atom=
ic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. It also explores the=
hopes and prayers of the residents from those reborn cities. The imagery=
in this collection=2C directed by Philip Clemo and shot by Ryushi Lindsay=
=2C was filmed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki during the commemorative events m=
arking the 75th anniversary of the bombings. The soundscapes have been for=
med from diverse sound fragments including B29 bombers=2C Morse code and J=
apanese songs about the bombings.

Emily Burridge is a cellist=2C composer=2C and producer who deftly uses im=
provisational and compositional skills to create fluid genre-crossing musi=
c=2C often used for documentaries and soundtracks. Working as a performer=

ing and looping technology which enables her to record harmonies and recre=
ate her multi-tracked compositions live.

hilip Clemo made as part of <em>From Silence Into Song</em>=2C which marks=
the 75th anniversary of the catastrophic atomic bombings of Hiroshima and=
Nagasaki in August 1945. It also explores the hopes and prayers of the re=
sidents from those reborn cities. The imagery in this collection=2C direct=
ed by Philip Clemo and shot by Ryushi Lindsay=2C was filmed in Hiroshima a=
nd Nagasaki during the commemorative events marking the 75th anniversary o=
f the bombings. The soundscapes have been formed from diverse sound fragme=
nts including B29 bombers=2C Morse code and Japanese songs about the bombi=
ngs.</p>
