New chancellor=2C Rishi Sunak=2C has delivered his first budget in the Hou=
se of Commons=2C just a month after taking up his new position.
Mr Sunak used his statement to announce a =C2=A330bn package of measures t=
o support businesses during the coronavirus outbreak and made a series of=
announcements affecting business owners across the country.
The Chancellor said the government would offer a =E2=80=98bridge=E2=80=99=
for businesses=2C so a temporary impact doesn=E2=80=99t become permanent.
Included in the measures is a plan to refund business owners who have to p=
ay statutory sick pay for people suffering from the virus - including peop=
le who have been advised to 'self isolate'.
The government will also launch a new=2C temporary Coronavirus Business In=
terruption Loan Scheme=2C delivered by the British Business Bank=2C to sup=
port businesses to access bank lending and overdrafts - distributing loans=
of up to =C2=A31.2m each.
There=E2=80=99ll also be support for self-employed people who may have iss=
ues with upcoming tax payments. HMRC has set up a dedicated Covid-19 helpl=
ine to help anyone in need=2C with the possibility of people being able to=
defer tax payments if necessary.
Away from coronavirus issues=2C Mr Sunak used the budget to announce a ser=
ies of funding packages to 'unleash the power of business' in the UK=2C in=

e House of Commons=2C just a month after taking up his new position.</div>

Mr Sunak used his statement to announce a <strong>=C2=A330bn package of me=
asures to support businesses</strong> during the coronavirus outbreak and=
made a series of announcements affecting business owners across the count=

The Chancellor said the government would offer a =E2=80=98bridge=E2=80=99=
for businesses=2C so a temporary impact doesn=E2=80=99t become permanent.=

Included in the measures is a plan to <strong>refund business owners</stro=
ng> who have to pay statutory sick pay for people suffering from the virus=
- including people who have been advised to 'self isolate'.</div>

The government will also launch a new=2C temporary <strong>Coronavirus Bus=
iness Interruption Loan Scheme</strong>=2C delivered by the British Busine=
ss Bank=2C to support businesses to access bank lending and overdrafts - d=
istributing loans of up to =C2=A31.2m each.</div>

There=E2=80=99ll also be <strong>support for self-employed people</strong>=
who may have issues with upcoming tax payments. HMRC has set up a dedicat=
ed Covid-19 helpline to help anyone in need=2C with the possibility of peo=
ple being able to defer tax payments if necessary.</div>
