Luigi Honorat (b.1986, Paris) is a French artist based in Tokyo, Japan. A 
self-taught CG artist, he studied sculpture at Musashino Art University in 
Tokyo, where he is currently a lecturer. Honorat has exhibited extensively 
in France and Japan including at Tokyo Gobiten, the National Art Center, 
Tokyo, JP, 2017; Fuchu Art Museum, Tokyo, JP, 2016; Ome Art Festival, Ome, 
JP, 2015. Honorat was awarded the Takashi Shimizu Award in 2015.

Intangible | Spherical Slices Rotation is an animated artwork by Luigi 
Honorat that is part of the Intangible series presented as is an ongoing 
form study exploring the possibilities of procedural modelling and 
animation. The work features a black sculpture of a human head composed of 
rounded slices of the topographical layers of the face. Using 3D animation, 
the slices begin to rotate slowly at different intervals, dividing the head 
into abstract forms that begin to resemble flower petals. Over time the 
slices rotate and eventually realign to form the original shape of the human 
head. The work is an exploration of sculptural form and possibilities 
enabled through animation.

create an artwork to showcase the creative possibilities of 3D technologies. 
The work explores form and motion by placing his animated sculptural forms

Spherical Slices Rotation</em> is an animated artwork by Luigi Honorat =
that is part of the <em>Intangible</em> series presented as is an =
ongoing form study exploring the possibilities of procedural modelling =
and animation. The work features a black sculpture of a human head =
composed of rounded slices of the topographical layers of the face. =
Using 3D animation, the slices begin to rotate slowly at different =
intervals, dividing the head into abstract forms that begin to resemble =
flower petals. Over time the slices rotate and eventually realign to =
form the original shape of the human head. The work is an exploration of =
sculptural form and possibilities enabled through animation.</p>
