to Virgin StartUp's Managing Director=2C Andy Fishburn.
Despite the challenging times ahead as the UK eases itself out of lockdown=
during the coronavirus pandemic=2C Andy has been heartened by the entrepr=
eneurial spirit of many in the Virgin StartUp community.
In a video chat with Holly Branson=2C Andy talked about emerging business=
trends=2C how businesses are adapting and what the future will look like.

Businesses in the early stages of their start-up journey can be better ser=
ved by existing funding options rather than the temporary measures impleme=
nted during the coronavirus crisis=2C according to an expert.
The government=2C in conjunction with lenders=2C has launched a series of=

as relevant as ever=2C particularly for founders in the early stages of t=
heir entrepreneurial journey.

=E2=80=9CStart Up Loans are absolutely key for people and businesses who a=
re in the pre-start phase=2C and people who are just starting out. More so=
than ever at present we are working with entrepreneurs who are keen to st=
art new businesses=2C taking advantage of the changes that we are seeing a=
ll around us.
=E2=80=9CThe current funding relief options require founders to submit tra=
ding figures or self-certify as to what you will earn. And at the moment=
=2C these are due to end in September.
=E2=80=9CWith a Start Up Loan=2C we=E2=80=99re looking at the viability of=
the business or idea and we=E2=80=99ll be around after these relief funds=
have gone.=E2=80=9D
Under the Start Up Loans programme=2C founders can borrow between =C2=A350=
0 to =C2=A325=2C000 to grow their business. It is classed as a personal lo=
an=2C so is based on individuals rather than companies=2C which means a bu=
siness with multiple founders can access funds upwards of =C2=A350=2C000.=
There=E2=80=99s no minimum trading requirement and no set-up fee or early=
repayment penalties. Founders can borrow over 1-5 years at a fixed intere=
st rate of 6%.
