A very special milestone has been reached: we=E2=80=99ve hit our 3=2C000th=
funded business.
From handing out our first loan in December 2013=2C to hitting our latest=
milestone with Planty=2C it means we=E2=80=99ve issued more than =C2=A340=
million in funding to UK entrepreneurs as an official Delivery Partner of=
the Government-backed Start Up Loans Company.
We=E2=80=99ve worked across the country=2C too. Just 29% of the Start Up L=
oans (https://www.virginstartup.org/start-up-loans?utm_source=3DVirgin+Sta=
rtUp+Newsletter&utm_campaign=3Da6a4b547d4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2019_02_01_06_44_=
COPY_01&utm_medium=3Demail&utm_term=3D0_d85f1ae8e8-a6a4b547d4-70125345&mc_cid=3Da6a4b547d4&mc_eid=3D[UNIQID]) issued by Virgin StartUp have=
gone to businesses based in London and 17% of funds have been issued to t=
he South East.
The North East=E2=80=99s entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well=2C with=
14% of funding going there=2C while the North West sits just behind on 11=
%.
Further analysis of our figures so far show that the food and beverage sec=
tor is the industry to have received the most funding with 17%=2C closely=
followed by the retail sector on 14% and the telecommunications sector on=
8%.
What=E2=80=99s more=2C we have proof that it works. The majority of loan r=
ecipients (73%) have businesses that are currently trading=2C with 75% of=
those working full-time in their new venture.

=A340 million in funding to UK entrepreneurs as an official Delivery Partn=
er of the Government-backed Start Up Loans Company.<br>

with 14% of funding going there=2C while the North West sits just behind=
on 11%.<br>

<div>Further analysis of our figures so far show that the food and beverag=
e sector is the industry to have received the most funding with 17%=2C clo=
sely followed by the retail sector on 14% and the telecommunications secto=
r on 8%.<br>

<div>What=E2=80=99s more=2C we have proof that it works. The majority of l=
oan recipients (73%) have businesses that are currently trading=2C with 75=
% of those working full-time in their new venture.<br>
