Heidi Locher is an architectural designer and artist living and working 
between London and Italy. Her artistic practice involves the use of video 
projection, light installations and enlarged photographs. Visually intense, 
her works have an energy stemming from their interdisciplinarity that 
juxtapose architectural forms and frameworks with more fluid and transitory 
structures. Locher has presented solo shows in London, New York, Paris, 
Austin and Rome.

Dispossession is a video artwork composed of 65 still images taken by the 
artist in a location in Southern Italy. Through this photo-roman, Heidi 
Locher presents a full investigation of a temporary structure: a hut and its 
surroundings. The piece forms part of an installation of the same name which 
is presented in an exhibition at TRACE Projects Berlin in April 2018.

Working across architectural forms and visual art, Heidi Locher’s work is a 
celebration and examination of the idiosyncrasies and inventiveness that 
arise when a building is made away from the influences of architecture. The 
building being recreated has already been reconfigured by nature, human 
hands, and tools.

Related Exhibition


Dispossession is part of the exhibition series Unimagined Surroundings, 
curated by Brunno Silva which consists of four solo shows by Heidi Locher, 
David Ebner, Randi Renate and Henrique Lopes, all showing installations 
pieces. The series looks at the interplay between art and architecture via 
installation work. The first exhibition is Dispossession and it runs from 27 
April to 6 May 2018 at TRACE Projects Berlin.

0;"><em>Dispossession</em> is a video artwork composed of 65 still =
images taken by the artist in a location in Southern Italy. Through this =
photo-roman, Heidi Locher presents a full investigation of a temporary =
structure: a hut and its surroundings. The piece forms part of an =
installation of the same name which is presented in an exhibition at =
TRACE Projects Berlin in April 2018.</p>

<p style=3D"font-size: inherit; margin: 0; padding: 0;">Working across =
architectural forms and visual art, Heidi Locher=E2=80=99s work is a =
celebration and examination of the idiosyncrasies and inventiveness that =
arise when a building is made away from the influences of architecture. =
The building being recreated has already been reconfigured by nature, =
human hands, and tools. </p>
