The guidance within this email applies to UK based employees only
The UK government this evening (16 March 2020) has revised its guidance on =
managing the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK by introducin=
g new measures including:
* If one member of a multi-occupancy household develops symptoms of a n=
ew continuous cough or a high temperature or fever, more than 37.8=B0C, eve=
rybody in that household must isolate for 14 days. For single-occupancy hou=
seholds the isolation period remains seven days
* You must report this to your manager in line with previous briefs. Yo=
ur manager will report your situation to HR Direct who will review your sta=
tus with you every day as per the previous self-isolation guidance
* The government also asked us to facilitate social distancing includin=
g home working where possible. The timing of this announcement came after m=
any colleagues had left for the day
Therefore below is the timeline of next steps for clarity:
* A special Board meeting will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) and, from =
this, further information will be cascaded during the course of the day thr=
ough your functions regarding social distancing measures, including which t=
eams should then work from home
* Please continue to come to work as usual until this cascade as it is =
important we implement any changes in a sensible and clear way. All JLR man=
ufacturing and engineering testing facilities will operate as usual until f=
urther notice. Further guidance on implementing distancing measures in thes=
e areas will be briefed locally
* All employees who are pregnant should work from home from Tuesday unt=
il further notice and contact their managers to be informed of their work a=
rrangements
* JLR await further guidance from the government on which employees may=
also have to work from home due to underlying medical conditions. As soon =
as this is received it will be briefed to colleagues
JLR are now updating their plans for the UK in line with the new NHS and Pu=
blic Health England advice. Please ensure that all decisions on working fro=
m home are made using the cascade of advice from the board meeting that wil=
l be released today.
All previous advice has been superseded. JLR will continue to keep us updat=
ed as the situation unfolds.
