Late 2024
Kentish Town reopening
We are expecting to reopen Kentish Town Tube station by the end of the year,
as work continues to make necessary improvements at the station.
We are sorry for the continued disruption to your journeys while these
essential works take place. There are a number of options available to you
while Kentish Town Tube station remains closed:
* Kentish Town Thameslink station will continue to remain open for customers
to use during these works and will continue to be served by Thameslink
services. This station is expected to be busier than usual, especially
during peak hours, so allow extra time to reach or leave the platforms
* Nearby Tufnell Park station is an 11-minute walk away for customers
needing access to the Northern line
* Customers travelling northbound can use local bus route 134 towards
Tufnell Park. Customers travelling southbound can use local bus routes 88,
134 and 214 towards Camden Town or local bus route 393 to Chalk Farm station
* London Overground services are also available from Kentish Town West and
Camden Road for east and westbound journeys

Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July
No service between King's Cross St. Pancras and Cockfosters including Friday
and Saturday Night Tube
Use alternative Tube and rail services and local bus routes. Rail
replacement buses will run between Cockfosters and Finchley Central, and
between Arnos Grove and Finsbury Park.
London Overground
Until Sunday 4 August
No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford
Use alternative Tube, rail or local bus services. Rail replacement buses
will run every 20 minutes, calling at all stations. During weekday morning
peak hours, a one-way system will operate at Walthamstow Central. This is
due to Network Rail bridge replacement works.
Service changes between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town/Cheshunt
Revised services will be operating between Liverpool Street and Enfield
Town/Cheshunt. During peak hours on Mondays to Fridays, fewer trains will be
running to/from Enfield Town and Cheshunt. Services will be re-timed.
Stansted Express services/Seven Sisters one-way system
Stansted Express services will run via Seven Sisters on Mondays to
Saturdays, and will not serve Tottenham Hale. Services to/from Stansted
Airport will only run via Tottenham Hale on Sunday 28 July and Sunday 4
August.
Seven Sisters is expected to be much busier. For a simpler journey and to
avoid queues at Seven Sisters, travel via Liverpool Street for step-free
access and to connect between the Tube and Stansted Airport/Cambridge train
services. Seven Sisters station does not have step-free access. For
assistance planning a step-free journey, call
0800 028 28 78.
A one-way system will be in operation at Seven Sisters during peak hours and
at other busy times when required. Plan ahead

Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes this weekend. We
expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.
Until Sunday 18 August
Lille Road/Old Brompton Road
Until Sunday 18 August, Lille Road/Old Brompton Road will be closed in both
directions between the junctions of Seagrave Road and Eardley Crescent for
Thames Water works.
Thursday 25 July
O2 Arena
From 18:30 until 22:30, the O2 Arena will host Michael Bolton in concert.
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the
event.
Wembley Stadium
From 19:15 until 22:30, Wembley Stadium will host Bruce Springsteen in
concert. Road closures will be in place around the stadium from 15:15 until
00:30. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and
after the event.
Friday 26 July until mid-October
Rowley Lane Flyover, Barnet
Until mid-October, there will be a series of lane closures and overnight
directional closures of the A1 Barnet Bypass at the junction with Rowley
Lane. This is for critical safety works to the flyover.
Overnight directional closures will take place between 21:00 and 05:00 only
with signed diversion routes for all traffic. The first directional closure
will be northbound overnight on Friday 26 July.
Lane closures, reducing the A1 to two lanes from three, will be in place
24/7 and affect one direction at a time, except between Monday 9 September
and Wednesday 10 October, when there will be a lane out in both directions.
Plan ahead and leave more time for your journey.
Saturday 27 July
Central London
From 10:00 until 17:00, a protest rally will take place from Royal Courts to
Trafalgar Square. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
From 10:00 until 17:00, a march will take place from Oxford Circus to
Wellington Arch. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
From 13:00 until 16:00, a religious event will take place at Parliament
Square. Large crowds are expected.
Newham
From 12:00 until 19:00, a triathlon will take place around Newham, with road
closures between Gallions Roundabout and Leamoth Roundabout. A professional
women's cycle race will also take place on roads within Newham between 14:00
and 18:00. Large crowds, increased traffic levels and delays are expected.
Chiswick House
From 12:00 until 22:30, Chiswick House will host a festival event. Large
crowds are expected.
Lord's Cricket Ground
From 15:00 until 22:00, Lord's Cricket Ground will host The Hundred cricket
tournament. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
O2 Academy Brixton
From 18:30 until 23:00, O2 Academy will host Bleachers in concert. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 July
Ealing Common
From 11:00 until 22:00 each day, Ealing Common will host a music event.
Large crowds are expected.
Blackheath
From 12:00 until 22:00 on Saturday and from 12:00 until 23:30 on Sunday,
Blackheath will host a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic
levels are expected.
Sunday 28 July
Bayswater
From 06:00 until 11:00, there will be traffic holds on Bayswater
Road/Edgware Road while filming takes place. Delays are expected.
Twickenham Stadium
From 08:00 until 20:00, Twickenham Stadium will be hosting the High Tide
music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected
throughout the day.
Monday 29 July until Wednesday 28 August
Whitehall
There will be two separate directional closures of Whitehall for works by
Westminster City Council.
Work will take place Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:00, and Saturdays
between 08:00 and 13:00, starting on the southbound carriageway from the
junction with Trafalgar Square, before moving to northbound from Wednesday
14 August, from the junction with Great Scotland Yard.
While the closures are in place, all traffic including some bus services
will be on diversion. Follow the official diversion routes, check before you
travel and leave more time for your journey.
Monday 29 July until mid-October
Grosvenor Road and Lupus Street
From Monday 29 July until mid-October, Grosvenor Road will be closed
eastbound between Royal Hospital Road and Lupus Street for Cadent Gas works.
Lupus Street will be closed for the duration of these works.
Delays are expected on all approaches to Grosvenor Road, especially during
peak travel hours, with local roads also expected to be busy as people use
alternative routes. Bus routes 24 and 360 will be on diversion. Allow more
time for your journey and check before you travel

A24 Balham High Road/Upper Tooting Road
From Monday 29 July until July 2025, there will be a series of lane
restrictions and temporary traffic signals in place on A24 Balham High
Road/Upper Tooting Road between the junction with Ravenstone Street and the
junction with Blackshaw Road. This is due to essential Thames Water works.
Customers travelling through the area should allow more time for their
journey, consider alternative routes and check before they travel

Until late July
Brixton Road
From 21:00 until 06:00 each night until late July, Brixton Road will be
closed in phases between Acre Lane and New Camberwell Road due to essential
road surfacing works.
We will be introducing temporary bus route 759 to help customers complete
their journeys during these works, which will run between Oval station and
Brixton (Effra Road) via Brixton Road and Camberwell New Road, following
sections of bus route P5.
Customers using route 759 will still need to touch in to pay for their
journey, but the Hopper fare will still be active on this route for
customers changing buses.
Buses which usually operate on Brixton Road (3, 59, 133, 159, 415, N109 and
N133) will be diverted during the works, with no service on Brixton Road
between Stockwell Road and Camberwell New Road.
Until late September
A12 Colchester Road
Until late September, there will be directional lane restrictions on the A12
Colchester Road between the junction with the M25 and the junction with
Woodstock Avenue. This is due to essential Thames Water works. For more

A10 Kingsland High Street
Until 6 October, works are taking place on the A10 Kingsland High Street at
the junction of Sandringham Road. This is to install new pedestrian and
cycling crossing facilities across Kingsland High Street.
There will be lane closures on the A10 Kingsland High Street until Sunday 28
July. Traffic will be managed one direction at a time and delays to your
journey are likely. Sandringham Road will be closed until Sunday 31 August.
Roads in the surrounding areas are also likely to be busier as people use
alternative routes. Allow more time for your journey and check before you
travel

Until October
A40 Westway
Until October 2024, there will be a series of closures affecting the slip
roads on and off the A40 at the Westway roundabout and on the A3220 West
Cross route. This is due to critical safety works.
The first phase of these works will be until Thursday 22 August, when the
eastbound off-slip and the southbound A3220 West Cross route from the
Westway roundabout will be closed. Drivers will not be able to exit the A40
to join the A3220 West Cross route travelling southbound. The westbound
on-slip and A3220 northbound will remain open.
On the A40, the approach to Wood Lane, diversion routes and local roads are
expected to be extremely busy. Customers are urged to plan ahead and use
alternative routes where possible.
Use alternative routes such as the A312 The Parkway or the A406 North
Circular for connections with the A4.
For access to Westfield White City, please use local public transport, walk
or cycle where possible.

Friday 26 July until mid-October</h2><h3 style=3D"">
Rowley Lane Flyover, Barnet</h3>Until mid-October, =
there will be a series of lane closures and overnight directional =
closures of the A1 Barnet Bypass at the junction with Rowley Lane. This =
is for critical safety works to the flyover. <br>

Overnight directional closures will take place between =
21:00 and 05:00 only with signed diversion routes for all traffic. The =
first directional closure will be northbound overnight on Friday 26 =
July. <br>
<br>
Lane closures, reducing the A1 to two lanes from three, =
will be in place 24/7 and affect one direction at a time, except between =
Monday 9 September and Wednesday 10 October, when there will be a lane =

series of closures affecting the slip roads on and off the A40 at the =

The first phase of these works will be until Thursday 22 =
August, when the eastbound off-slip and the southbound A3220 West Cross =
route from the Westway roundabout will be closed. Drivers will not be =
able to exit the A40 to join the A3220 West Cross route travelling =
southbound. The westbound on-slip and A3220 northbound will remain =
open. <br>
<br>
On the A40, the approach to Wood Lane, diversion routes =
and local roads are expected to be extremely busy. Customers are urged =
to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible. <br>
