▪ Designing and developing various fuel system components for both Jaguar
and Land Rover vehicles, from
virtual CAD concepts through to mass production via several prototype
vehicle builds.
▪ Considerations when designing parts include cost, ease of manufacture,
poka yoke, durability, environmental
corrosion and recycling.
▪ The role has a strong focus on managing suppliers and conducting
regular meetings to monitor tooling
progress and timing.
▪ Regular factory visits to observe how parts are manufactured to develop
process and quality improvements
with the supplier and JLR manufacturing department.
▪ Components include steel fuel fillers, plastic AdBlue fillers, heated
AdBlue lines, charcoal canisters, filters,
coolers and brackets.
▪ Extensive knowledge gained of many manufacturing methods including
plastic injection moulding, blow
moulding, plastic welding and sheet metal pressing.
▪ Filed a patent for my invention relating to AdBlue tank venting.
