Weekend travel information
Dear Mr Home,
If you plan to travel this weekend, there are plenty of ways to get around
the city.
The planned strike action on Thursday 7 and Tuesday 12 November has been
suspended. Tube services will run as normal.

London Underground
Piccadilly line
Until Monday 21 November
Westbound trains (towards central London) will not stop at Caledonian Road
station
Eastbound trains (towards Cockfosters) will resume stopping at Caledonian
Road from Friday 1 November.
During these works, step-free access will be maintained, but you will not be
able to use the westbound platform.
You can use the Piccadilly line to travel eastbound from Caledonian Road to
Finsbury Park, where you can change for Piccadilly line services to central
London.
Alternatively, you can use local bus routes 17, 259 or 91 to King's Cross St
Pancras Tube station.
This is while we carry out works to the platforms at Caledonian Road

The following closures are due to Network Rail maintenance work.
Thursday 7 November
No southbound service from Sydenham to West Croydon after 22:15
Use Southern Railway services or local bus routes.
Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 November
No service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon
Use alternative Southern Railway services or local bus routes. Southern
Railway replacement bus services will run.
Sunday 10 November
No service between Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction
Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Southern Railway services
will also not run during this time.
Monday 11 until Thursday 14 November
No service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon after
23:00 each night
Use alternative Southern Railway services or local bus routes. A Southern
Railway replacement bus will depart each night from London Bridge at 23:58
to Streatham Hill (via Crystal Palace), and from London Bridge at 00:35 to
East Croydon (via Norwood Junction).
No westbound service from Stratford to Camden Road after 23:45 each night
Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes.
Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 November
No eastbound service from Willesden Junction to Stratford after 23:00 each
night

Sunday 10 November
Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow
This is due to Network Rail maintenance works.
Monday 11 until Wednesday 13 November
Reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow/Maidenhead after 22:00 each
night
This is due to Network Rail Thames Valley works.
Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes this weekend. We
expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.
Until late 2025
A3220 Battersea Bridge Road
There will be a series of lane restrictions affecting Battersea Bridge Road
across Battersea Bridge, between Cambridge Road on the south side and Cheyne
Walk on the north.
Work will start at the junction with Cambridge Road and progress north one
junction at a time. This is while we deliver the Battersea Bridge safety
improvements scheme. Some local roads will also be closed where required,
with signed diversions in place.

Blackwall Tunnel
Blackwall Tunnel will be closed to southbound traffic from 23:00 on Friday 8
November until 06:00 the following morning.
This is while works continue to complete the new road layout, as part of the
Silvertown Tunnel construction.
The tunnel will remain open to northbound traffic during these times.

Friday 8 and Saturday 9 November
Tottenham Hale
From 19:00 on Friday until 03:00 the following morning, and from 13:00 until
22:30 on Saturday, Drumsheds will host a music event. Large crowds and
increased traffic levels are expected.
O2 Arena
From 18:30 until 22:30 each evening, the O2 Arena will host a music event.
Large crowds are expected before and after the event.
Saturday 9 November
City of London
From 05:00 until 17:00, there will be extensive road closures throughout
City of London between Bishopsgate in the east, Old Street in the north,
Aldwych in the west and Victoria Embankment in the south.
The following bus routes will be on diversion: 4, 8, 9, 15, 17, 21, 23, 25,
26, 40, 43, 46, 56, 59, 63, 76, 87, 100, 133, 141, 153, 172, 214, 341, 344,
N8, N9, N15, N550 and N551.
This is for an annual parade. Large crowds are expected.
Central London
From 09:00 until 15:00, a wreath laying ceremony will take place at
Whitehall. Parliament Street, Whitehall and Bridge Street will be closed.
Large crowds are expected.
Twickenham Stadium
From 12:00 until 19:00, Twickenham Stadium will host a rugby match, with
kick off at 15:10. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected
before and after the event.
Royal Albert Hall
From 14:00 until 19:00, the Royal Albert Hall will host an annual event.
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the
event.
Sunday 10 November
City of London
From 07:00 until 17:00, there will be extensive road closures throughout
City of London for an annual ceremonial event, from Bishopsgate in the east,
London Wall in the north, Holborn in the west and Cannon Street in the
south. Large crowds are expected.
Central London
From 00:01 until 17:30, an annual ceremonial event will take place at
Whitehall. Extensive road closures will be in place during the event, with
Whitehall closed and traffic holds in place at Hyde Park Corner. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
From 09:00 until 11:30, an annual march will take place, forming up by 10:50
at St Pancras Parish Church on Euston Road. From there, it will travel to
Euston Bus Station and Euston Grove, where a ceremonial event will take
place. Large crowds are expected.
From 11:30 until 15:30, an annual march will take place, forming up at The
Mall. From approximately 12:30, the group will march to Parliament Square
via Trafalgar Square and Whitehall. Large crowds are expected.
From 14:30 until 17:00, an annual parade will take place, from Elverton
Street to Pont Street via Horseferry Road, Greycoat Place, Artillery Row and
Eccleston Street. The march will arrive at Pont Street at 14:45. Large
crowds are expected.
From 14:00 until 18:00, a march will take place from BBC Portland Place to
Piccadilly Circus via Regent Street. Large crowds, increased traffic levels
and delays are expected.
Borough and Holborn
From 09:00 until 13:00, annual ceremonial events will take place on Borough
High Street and in Holborn, with local road closures in place. Large crowds
are expected.
Kensington
From 09:15 until 12:30, an annual ceremonial event will take place on
Kensington Church Street, which will be closed northbound from 09:30. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Shepherd's Bush
From 09:00 until 13:00, a march will take place in Shepherd's Bush, with a
group forming up at Sulgrave Road and marching to Shepherd's Bush Green.
Local road closures will be in place. Large crowds are expected.
Until Monday 18 November
A1 Upper Street
There will be a series of full and directional closures on the A1 Upper
Street between Highbury Corner and A501 Pentonville Road junction on the
following dates. This is due to carriageway resurfacing works.
Full closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 each night from Monday
11 until Thursday 14 November.
A southbound closure will be in place between 08:00 on Sunday 17 and 06:00
on Monday 18 November.
Diversions will be in place for drivers, as well as some bus routes. During
these closures, if you are driving or taking the bus through the area then
you should consider alternative routes, check before you travel

forming up at The Mall. From approximately 12:30, the group will march =

A1 Upper Street</h3>There will be a series of full and =
