In fact, Jean-Marc told me we’ve never ever had a Pauillac like this at such
a great price. And he’s been buying Bordeaux for us for 30 years!
We can’t tell you who it’s from. But it’s undoubtedly one of the
hottest-ticket châteaux in all of Bordeaux, “making some of the most
exciting reds in the world” (James Suckling).
Their Grand Vin scored a potentially perfect 98-100 points in 2023 and sells
for around £120 a bottle.
And one final clue: the château is 100% biodynamic and organic (there aren’t
many of those in Pauillac!). The care and attention given to these wines are
absolutely second to none.
Normally with top estates like this, anything that doesn’t quite make the
£120 flagship wine goes into a second wine (which still costs the earth!).
But this château no longer makes a second wine.
It’s the Grand Vin or nothing ... until now.
We’ve never had a secret parcel from this estate before and there are only
300 cases.
