Born on 4th April 2024, this handsome colt by Bated Breath arrived at Cottam
Grange last week from Brook Stud in Newmarket, where he was raised since
birth. We’ve followed this exciting youngster from a foal, and although he
was entered for the 2024 sales, he had to be withdrawn after getting cast in
his stable.
Expertly prepared by Brook Stud and Seb Woods, he has now gone straight into
pre-training at Cottam Grange. A well-balanced and forward individual, he
shows all the right signs to make up into an early two-year-old. The plan is
for him to head into full training with Seb Spencer in January 2026, with a
view to racing in the spring.
His sire Bated Breath has been a proven source of speed and class, producing
numerous Group 2, Group 3, and Listed winners. A high-class sprinter
himself, Bated Breath won at Group 2 level and was placed in five Group 1
races, earning over ÂŁ419,000 in prize money.
His dam Oksana Astankova was lightly raced, winning over seven furlongs and
achieving a handicap mark of 70. Importantly, she is a sister to Group 3
winner Dan’s Dream, adding further strength to this colt’s pedigree page.
Overall, this colt is a strong, good-moving individual with a fantastic
temperament. He’s one to get excited about, with plenty of fun and potential
ahead for his owners in 2026.
Syndicate term dates: November 2025 until November 2026.
How does this syndicate work?
Emporium100 offers an exclusive and personal route into racehorse ownership.
With just 100 shares available, you’ll become part of a close‑knit group of
around 40–50 passionate owners.
Every member is guaranteed a place at all stable visits and has direct
communication with their Racing Manager, Harry Easterby, through a dedicated
WhatsApp group shared by all owners.
With fewer owners involved in this style of syndicate, shareholders
typically receive multiple owners and trainers tickets to the races
throughout the season, as-well as guaranteed places to visit your horse.
Each syndicate runs through a set term, at which point all prize money and
proceeds earned by the horse are distributed to owners in proportion to
their shareholding. This is also the stage where owners can choose to sell
their percentage.
If a purchase offer for the horse is received during the syndicate term, a
vote will be held among the owners to decide collectively whether to accept
the offer or retain the horse. Owners are also free to sell their stake
privately at any time, provided the Racing Emporium team is notified of the
transaction and supplied with the new owner’s details for registration
purposes.
The monthly cost of ÂŁ50 per percentage covers all expenses, including the
purchase of the horse, training, veterinary care, transport, registrations,
and administration, meaning there are no hidden costs or additional invoices
throughout the syndicate’s duration.
