In Westminster, however, the story of the day is Andy Burnham=E2=80=99s par=

] on the early prison release scheme. Criminals convicted of rape, grooming=
offences and child sexual assault will no longer be eligible for early rel=
ease, although people serving time for manslaughter and serious domestic ab=
use will. That means that two of PC Andrew Harper=E2=80=99s killers could s=
till be freed in January. The Prime Minister said he had not been able to =E2=
=80=98go further=E2=80=99 with restrictions, since the prison system is =E2=
=80=98reaching capacity and collapsing=E2=80=99.
PC=E2=80=99s Harper widow, Lissa, said she was =E2=80=98bristling with ange=
r=E2=80=99 and that the release would be =E2=80=98an affront to justice=E2=80=
=99. The Ministry of Justice has said it will run out of prison places in N=
ovember unless 6,000 prisoners are freed early. Kemi Badenoch said Burnham =
wanted a =E2=80=98round of applause for agreeing not to release rapists and=

August is usually a quiet period in politics but there is a healthy bit of =
intrigue on the right to keep us going through parliament=E2=80=99s recess.=

ruled out further discussions and the prospect of some sort of arrangement=

ership has clearly twigged that they will not be able to win power as a nar=
row factional party of the radical right. Lowe rejoining the fold could com=
e with extra advantages such as the Restore membership, his considerable fi=
nancial resources and potentially rapprochement between Farage and Elon Mus=
k.

ampion boxer who co-ran a refugee charity. He arrived in Lesbos in 2016 age=
d 15. He met an American volunteer, Alaina Hall, at one of the refugee camp=
s, later marrying her in 2023. It was Hall who reported Ahmadzi to the poli=
ce due to concerns over his behaviour. Ahmadzi has been accused of killing =
Ross, disposing of her remains in a suitcase in an abandoned building, taki=

Iran denied, again, that talks were under way with the US about what to do =
with the Strait of Hormuz. Donald Trump warned over the weekend that negoti=

Reform could benefit electorally by shoring up its right flank, and Restore=
=E2=80=99s leadership has clearly twigged that they will not be able to win=
power as a narrow factional party of the radical right. Lowe rejoining the=
fold could come with extra advantages such as the Restore membership, his =
considerable financial resources and potentially rapprochement between Fara=
ge and Elon Musk.=20
