Subject: AVA Wing Repair
Neal,
In 2017 I purchased an AVA Pro Flapped Competition Electric, 3.2 M. It was
described as Violet & White tips/Violet center section.
Recently, it suffered a small amount of damage in the last cell of the wing
center section. See photo, mid wing on left.
I think the wing covering material is called Oracover in Europe and
Ultracote is the US.
I purchased Hangar 9 HANU955 UltraCote, Transparent Violet but the color is
a darker (bluer) violet and does not seem to match the AVA color. See photo,
roll of Transparent Violet on right.
I've spent several hours trying to match the wing color to Violet and
Magenta colors on the Oracover website: <https://www.oracover.de/>

Now that I have proof that Transparent Violet is not correct, my next choice
is Transparent Magenta but I'm a bit color blind and do not trust my
judgement. There is also a Pearl Purple and a Transparent Purple!
Q1: Does anyone really know which color of Ultracote was used on the so
called "Violet" wings of the AVA?
