This book, '18 Holes of Quantum Golf,' tells the story of how our knowledge=
 of
the world around us has been built up over the last 2,800 years. It started=
 with
an early scientist called Thales who opened an academy in the Greek City-St=
ate
of Miletus. His genius was to teach his students to understand the world ar=
ound
them without referring to ancient myths, superstitions or the passing whims=
 of
Greek Gods. Thales students work however was not to the liking of Plato and
Aristotle and it languished unread for 800 years until it was rediscovered
during the Renaissance, or Awakening, in the early thirteen hundreds. Since=

scientists like Galileo, Johannes Kepler, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and=
 many
other brilliant people have laboured long and hard to give us our present w=

with its mass of technological marvels. This is their story told in normal
everyday language, without any technical jargon, making this important hist=

love how the author used two senior citizens playing a round of golf to
highlight the importance of caring, friendship, love and most importantly, =
to
explain how science has enabled us to gain a better understanding of the wo=
rld
around us. Also, I loved the addition of humour in between the lines of the
story which adds to the point that the golfers are explaining. As a lover o=
f
history and a science enthusiast, tho' not a golfer, this was a delightful =
read.
The book is in plain English with no technical jargon and will be education=
al
for people who want an easy introduction to the growth of science and the m=
any
