Host is a new moving image artwork by Paul Benney. The work is part of
series of paintings by the artist brought to life with video/digital
editing.
The spiral is a sacred symbol that represents the journey and change of life
as it unfolds; taking a labyrinth-like passage that leads to Source. It
symbolises connection to God and the energy of the cosmos.

Paul Benney is an internationally acclaimed British artist best known for
his painting and installation work.
A prominent member of the
Neo-Expressionist group during the 80’s in New York’s East Village, Benney
became known for his depictions of stygian themes and dark nights of the
soul. He is represented in public and private collections around the world
including The Metropolitan Museum of Art (USA), The Brooklyn Museum (USA),
The National Gallery (Australia) and The National Portrait Gallery (London).
