There have been a number of government interventions and relief funds aime=

Head of Funding and Support=2C Lissa Gillott=2C says the Start Up Loan sc=
heme is still as relevant as ever=2C particularly for founders in the earl=
y stages of their entrepreneurial journey.

re in the pre-start phase=2C and people who are just starting out. More s=
o than ever at present we are working with entrepreneurs who are keen to s=

=E2=80=9CThe current funding relief options require founders to submit tra=
ding figures or self-certify as to what you will earn. With a Start Up Loa=
n=2C we=E2=80=99re looking at the viability of the business or idea and we=

Under the Start Up Loans programme=2C founders can borrow between =C2=A350=
0 to =C2=A325=2C000 to grow their business. It is classed as a personal lo=
an=2C so is based on individual founders rather than companies=2C which me=
ans a business with multiple founders can borrow up to =C2=A325=2C000 each=

There=E2=80=99s no minimum trading requirement and no set-up fee or early=
repayment penalties. Founders can borrow over 1-5 years at a fixed intere=

** Why quick thinking might save your startup in 2020=F0=9F=A4=AF

Thinking on your feet seems the antithesis to successful=2C planned-out bu=
siness. However=2C when the coronavirus pandemic hit back in March=2C the=
world had to learn to think on its feet=2C and quick. And Lucy Wright and=
Jeremy May=2C founders of wine disruptor brand=2C NICE=2C did just that -=
to great success.
When lockdown hit=2C NICE lost a big chunk of its revenue. A significant p=
roportion of the business was built on catering for events=2C and having j=
ust secured a contract for the upcoming Wimbledon tennis championships=2C=
lockdown served up a nightmare.
Lucy said:
"We lost 60-70% of our revenue overnight. Pivoting is an overused word=2C=
but we reacted very quickly. We focused online and started to proactively=
contact 3=2C000 pubs=2C bars and restaurants that were offering takeaway=
services - nobody wanted to be faffing around with bottles and glasses=2C=
so our cans were a good option for them.
"But now=2C as pubs=2C bars and restaurants have reopened=2C they're going=
back to bottles=2C so we need to adapt again. We need to be thinking all=
the time."

When lockdown hit=2C NICE lost a big chunk of its revenue. A significant p=
roportion of the business was built on catering for events=2C and having j=
ust secured a contract for the upcoming Wimbledon tennis championships=2C=
lockdown served up a nightmare. <br>
