Magnetic is a film by Philip Clemo=2C exploring magnetism and the forces o=
f attraction that are all around us.
In the film=2C matter is pulled apart by the sheer power of sound and the=
 ebb and flow of an ever-changing musical soundscape. It also reflects Cle=
mo=E2=80=99s investigation into how sound vibrates within us and alters us=
=2E The film challenges familiarity through the use of extreme slow motion a=
nd micro abstraction and encourages us to let go of observing our visual w=
orld in analytical ways. Instead=2C it encourages the audience to embrace=
 abstraction and ambiguity in ways that we might do with sound.

Interview with Philip Clemo

In the interview=2C Clemo explains ambiguity and abstractions which are hi=
s re-occurring topics=2C creative approaches to imageries and soundscape a=
nd what he pursues with art practices. The artist also mentions the challe=
nges and opportunities that this film brought to him as a longer=2C compre=
hensive artwork. The interview also took the opportunity to bring the soun=
d practice of the artist to the front. As a composer and a musician=2C Cle=
mo has released 6 albums including Dream Maps which contains the soundtrac=
