Since 2021, santiago has been developing Human Kernel, an ongoing project of
hand-painted PFPs that examines PFP project culture from an outsider’s
perspective.
Several weeks ago, the artist invited people on X to comment on a post in
exchange for a painted portrait of their PFP.
This project brings together those two lines of research in a series of
portraits depicting both existing and fictional people and organizations.
