Authorised Push Payment (APP) scams
We=E2=80=99re updating Your Current Account Terms and Your Savings Terms following new rules introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator on 7th October 2024 about refunding customers who fall victim to APP scams. An APP scam is when you=E2=80=99re tricked into paying money to someone who isn=E2=80=99t genuine. Or for a different purpose from what you meant.
What does this mean for me=3F

The new rules are already in place, and cover payments made in the UK using Faster Payments or CHAPS. When you pay for something using our mobile app or Digital Banking it=E2=80=99s usually a Faster Payment. CHAPS is sometimes used for high-value payments, like a deposit on a house. If you fall victim to an APP scam, you can make a claim up to =C2=A385,000 for payments made on or after 7th October 2024.
