ew Prime Minister, we knew we had to mark the moment. Thanks to hundreds of=

, last month, we finally got the massive news we've been fighting for: Andy=
 Burnham has officially announced that bus fares across England will be cap=

This month, the Mirror covered our exclusive polling about Nigel Farage's d=
ecision to call a by-election. The results showed that a clear majority of =
the public believe he is doing it to avoid scrutiny over the financial supp=
ort he has received. For our community, this isn't about singling out polit=
icians; it's about the basic standards we expect from our elected represent=
atives. We believe our politics should be fair, transparent, and honest, an=
d together we will always call out anyone trying to dodge accountability. [=

    Standing up for volunteer coastguards

Earlier this year the Government announced outrageous plans to stop paying =
Coastguard Rescue Officers their hourly fee for any time they spend out sav=
ing lives. But after a huge campaign from those coastguards, the Government=
 scrapped this terrible plan. More than 124,328 of us signed a huge petitio=
n in solidarity with these coastguards, calling for the plans to be dropped=
. And while the bulk of the credit goes to those brave rescue officers, I k=
now 38 Degrees supporters up and down the country will be pleased to hear a=
bout this U-turn! [5]<br><br>

    Fighting for our local communities

As always, incredible people have been using our platform to fight for the =
places they live. In Leeds, a petition to stop the construction of massive =
Microsoft hyperscale data centres has exploded to over 20,000 signatures, s=
ecuring great local news coverage as residents fight to protect their area.=
 Down in Somerset, locals campaigning to make Bath England's first 20mph ci=
ty have been making headlines too.

And we have to celebrate a massive, hard-fought victory in London! Followin=
g huge pressure from passionate local residents, Brixton Market has officia=
lly been designated an Asset of Community Value. This means it has been sav=
ed from private equity firms for now, giving the community the legal right =
to try and buy it back themselves. It just goes to show what happens when l=
ocal people step up to protect the things that matter most. [6]<br><br>
