The idea of a farm stay is something I love. I=E2=80=99m all for sustainabi=
lity, and I=E2=80=99ve admired how the concept has exploded in recent years=
=2E But don=E2=80=99t be fooled=E2=80=94I am=20=
just not super down to wake up a=
t the crack of dawn to milk a cow (something I=E2=80=99ve actually never do=
ne). No part of me is interested in breaking into that line of work while o=
n vacation.
I=E2=80=99m not one to stick my nose up often, and people are going to come=
after me for this, so let me get something straight: I love my laptop, my =
phone, and Wi-Fi. HAP and Mexzine are the work I want to be doing, and I=E2=
=80=99d rather put my effort into productivity and efficiency than anything=
else. But that might just be me. If you want to pick herbs, collect eggs f=
rom a pen, and make breakfast out of what you pluck, I love that for you.
For the record, I do get the appeal. A farm stay puts you up on working lan=
d=E2=80=94a converted barn, a restored masseria, a farmhouse with a handful=
of rooms plus a kitchen garden out back=E2=80=94and the whole proposition =
is that everything on your plate came from somewhere you can walk to. That=
=E2=80=99s the draw: space, provenance, and a pace set by the property rath=
er than by you. Guests get to spend a weekend in a life that runs on what=
=E2=80=99s in season rather than calendar invites, and for many people, tha=
t=E2=80=99s the closest thing to a reset there is, especially if you=E2=80=
=99re an urbanite like me.=20
It also helps that these places photograph beautifully=E2=80=94farm stays a=
re some of the most photogenic hospitality products of the decade. There ar=
e a few creators out there, and this is a nod to niche media, who pull garg=
antuan engagement every time they post about their specialty, and "farm-to-=
table" now populates just about every hotel plus restaurant marketing team'=
s outbound press releases. The scene is dreamy by design: a rustic barn tha=
t screams harvest-girl summer, light linens spotted with golden sunlight, t=
he on-property tractor (often suspiciously spotless), and bucolic-leaning o=
veralls. The demand is real (Vogue published an informative article about a=
year ago about how the =E2=80=9Cmodern agritourism market is in full bloom=
, growing 12% yearly and poised to reach $14.5 billion by 2029.=E2=80=9D). =
So, rest assured, we will continue to cover them at HAP through our network=
of diverse-thinking travel journalists.=20
Of course, it would be incomplete to say farm stays are all or nothing. The=
re are different degrees of them, and how much one wants to participate, wh=
ether that be in a single activity or the whole damn time.=20
Look, for some people, the chores are the point, and I mean that=E2=80=94th=
ere=E2=80=99s a real romance to earning your breakfast. It=E2=80=99s just n=
ot my romance. If I=E2=80=99m going to be hard at work on vacation, I want =
it to be my work, the stuff I actually chose. In the rare case that I actua=
lly stop working on my businesses for 48 hours and attempt to master the ar=
t of respite while on a countryside vacation, give me the soaking tub overl=
ooking the meadow or the restorative Swiss-branded facial experience. I jus=
t don=E2=80=99t want to milk Sally the cow.=20

me is interested in breaking into that line of work while on vacation.</p><=

ize: 16px;">I’m not one to stick my nose up often, and people are goi=
ng to come after me for this, so let me get something straight: I love my l=
aptop, my phone, and Wi-Fi. HAP and Mexzine are the work I want to be doing=
, and I’d rather put my effort into productivity and efficiency than =
anything else. But that might just be me. If you want to pick herbs, collec=
t eggs from a pen, and make breakfast out of what you pluck, I love that fo=

26px;font-size: 16px;">For the record, I do get the appeal. A farm stay put=
s you up on working land—a converted barn, a restored masseria, a far=
mhouse with a handful of rooms plus a kitchen garden out back—and the=
whole proposition is that everything on your plate came from somewhere you=
can walk to. That’s the draw: space, provenance, and a pace set by t=
he property rather than by you. Guests get to spend a weekend in a life tha=
t runs on what’s in season rather than calendar invites, and for many=
people, that’s the closest thing to a reset there is, especially if =
you’re an urbanite like me. </p><p style=3D"margin: 0 0 20px 0;color:=

these places photograph beautifully—farm stays are some of the most =
photogenic hospitality products of the decade. There are a few creators out=
there, and this is a nod to niche media, who pull gargantuan engagement ev=
ery time they post about their specialty, and "farm-to-table" now populates=
just about every hotel plus restaurant marketing team's outbound press rel=
eases. The scene is dreamy by design: a rustic barn that screams harvest-gi=
rl summer, light linens spotted with golden sunlight, the on-property tract=
or (often suspiciously spotless), and bucolic-leaning overalls. The demand =
is real (</span><em>Vogue</em><span> published an informative article about=
a year ago about how the “modern agritourism market is in full bloom=
