cialist care, medication, and support. With assisted =0Asuicide on the tabl=
e, the state's obligation shrinks to one thing: offering =0Adeath. That is =
cheaper. And for some, that calculation is already being made.=0A=0AWe have=
 seen exactly where this road ends. In Canada, former Paralympian =0AChrist=
ine Gauthier asked her local authority for a stairlift so she could live =
=0Aindependently. The response she received included information on how to =
access =0Aassisted dying instead. A woman asking for help to live was hande=
d a leaflet on =0Ahow to die. That is the message this law sends to the mos=
