** End of life case goes to Supreme Court
------------------------------------------------------------

The family of Robert Barnor=2C a 68-year-old Christian husband and father=
 who died after his life-sustaining dialysis was unlawfully withdrawn by a=
n NHS Trust=2C will continue their fight for justice at the UK Supreme Cou=
rt (https://christianconcern.com/news/nhs-end-of-life-supreme-court-appeal=
/) .

The case raises profound questions about the rights of incapacitated patie=
nts and their families when life-sustaining treatment is withdrawn or with=
held during a dispute with doctors.

We helped Robert=E2=80=99s family successfully overturn a hospital=E2=80=
=99s claim that stopping dialysis was merely a clinical decision. Without=
 this win=2C hospitals would have been able to bypass proper legal procedu=
res in these end-of-life cases. The Barnor family are now going to the Sup=
reme Court to ensure that no families have to endure the same tragic outco=
me.

The family say that this episode shows why clear Supreme Court guidance is=
 urgently needed to protect vulnerable patients and families caught in dis=
putes with hospitals over life-sustaining treatment.

Pray for the Barnor family as they continue to mourn the loss of Robert=2C=
 and pray for the lawyers as they gear up to head to the Supreme Court aga=
in - that they would argue with clarity and persuasion that life ought to=
 be protected and cherished=2C rather than discarded because it=E2=80=99s=
 the =E2=80=98easier route=E2=80=99 for the medical system.

** Burnham says =E2=80=98not time=E2=80=99 for assisted suicide
------------------------------------------------------------

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said this week that he thinks assisted suicide=
 shouldn=E2=80=99t be considered until after palliative care and social ca=
re is fixed.

It=E2=80=99s a big moment - it is likely that some Labour MPs will underst=
and that even if they support assisted suicide in principle=2C it is a bad=
 time to try to push the bill through.

But we cannot take anything for granted. The deadly bill is still on Parli=
ament=E2=80=99s agenda and will be voted on in the House of Commons at sec=
ond reading on Friday 11 September.

** New schools guidance still keeps parents in dark
------------------------------------------------------------

Should schools keep parents in the dark about a child questioning their=
 =E2=80=98gender identity=E2=80=99?

The Government=E2=80=99s updated Keeping Children Safe In Education guidan=
ce contains welcome improvements=2C such as strengthened protections for s=
ingle-sex toilets=2C changing rooms=2C and accommodation.

But Head of Education Steve Beegoo says =E2=80=9Ca serious weakness in the=
 guidance is found in its approach to parental involvement=2C which will u=
ndoubtedly be used by some activist teachers to conceal from parents what=
 is occurring in school.

=E2=80=9CThe guidance states that where a child confides in a member of st=
aff about confused gender-related feelings but does not request changes in=
 school=2C =E2=80=98there is no reason=E2=80=99 to break confidentiality (=

Thank God that there have been improvements which strengthen single-sex sp=
aces=2C but continue to pray that the false teaching that boys can become=

 to court over its puberty blocker trial on children.

efused permission for us to proceed to a full Judicial Review hearing in o=
ur pursuit to block the deeply unethical and highly dangerous puberty bloc=

James is now consulting with his lawyers over the possibility of appealing=
 the ruling.

We lament this ruling=2C and ask that you continue to pray that no more ch=
ildren in the UK will be allowed to undergo the horrific practice of puber=
