Further to our update on the 4th March, we are committed to the health =
and wellbeing of all our workers and those we come into contact with. We =
will continue to update you regularly on what you need to do and how you =
can reduce the risk of infection. Please share with your workforce as =

Symptoms of coronavirus:
=20
Typical symptoms of coronavirus include fever and a cough that may =
progress to severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing =
difficulties. =20
=20
While most people with coronavirus experience mild symptoms and recover, =
some go on to experience more serious illness and may require hospital =
care. Risk of serious illness rises with age. People with weakened =
immune systems and people with conditions such as diabetes, heart and =
lung disease are also more vulnerable to serious illness.

Current Global Situation
=20
We are seeing decreasing cases in China outside Hubei province, but =
there is ongoing increasing cases outside of China. The government has =
categorised the highest risk countries as category 1, and the other =
countries as category 2, with different recommendations for each. =

=E2=80=A2 PHE have advised that only individuals who have =
returned from Category 1 specified countries/areas in the last 14 days =
should self-isolate.

measures.

Reducing the risk of Coronavirus
=20
Based on current Government advice how long any respiratory virus =
survives will depend on a number of factors, for example:
=20
* what surface the virus is on
* whether it is exposed to sunlight
* differences in temperature and humidity
* exposure to cleaning products
=20
Under most circumstances, the amount of infectious virus on any =
contaminated surfaces is likely to have decreased significantly by 24 =
hours, and even more so by 72 hours.
Once the virus is transferred to hands, it survives for fewer than five =
minutes. Regular cleaning of frequently touched hard surfaces and hand =
hygiene will therefore help to reduce the risk of infection.
Routine use of masks is not recommended unless for clinical reasons or =
current process calls for them.=20
=20
What you can do to help:
=20
* Remember basic hand hygiene =E2=80=93 wash your hands regularly and =
thoroughly (recommended at least 20 seconds) with soap and water, which =
is provided in the bathrooms in our offices or use hand sanitiser gel.
* Use tissues to capture coughs and sneezes and dispose of them in bins =
ideally covered bins. Don=E2=80=99t use your hands (please observe hand =
hygiene principles if you are caught by surprise).
* Assist with surface cleanliness such as your desk, phone, keyboard =
etc. by using anti-bacterial wipes. Again, please dispose of in covered =
bins.
* Avoid shaking hands =E2=80=93 while this may seem awkward, it is =
identified that this is an effective way to avoid passing on the virus.
* JLR have travel restrictions in place which will be managed locally. =
Travel for business is not permitted to or via any country or area which =
is currently identified by the government as being at higher risk. =

* You should take your laptop home at night=E2=80=93 in order to be =
prepared if the office has to shut for example.

Working from home:

Should the situation in relation to coronavirus worsen, we recognise =
that there may be occasions when you are unable to come to work, for =
example:

* You have symptoms, however minor and have recently returned from one =
of the affected areas.
* You have been in contact with someone who is displaying symptoms =
and/or is awaiting test results for coronavirus.
* You are responsible for a child who is unable to go to school (because =
it is closed as a preventative measure).
* You are advised to self-quarantine by NHS 111 or another healthcare =
professional.

If you are well enough to work and the nature of your work enables you =
to do so, you should gain permission from your line manager. You will be =
required to check in with your line manager each day (even if they are =
also working from home).=20
=20
In preparation for this, please get in the habit of taking your laptop =
home with you and ensure that access is set up and working. Please also =
ensure that your line manager has your current mobile phone number. =
Download MyJLR App to keep updated on any new information.

Please remember that normal data security rules apply and you should =
avoid saving sensitive data, whether personal or commercial to your =
laptop.

Office closures:

In the event that we are advised of office/site closures, you will be =
notified immediately.

Managing Sickness related absence:
=20
* PHE have advised that only individuals who have returned from =
Category 1 specified countries/areas in the last 14 days should =
self-isolate.=20
* For anyone who has returned from Category 2 specified countries/areas =
in the last 14 days, should only self-isolate and contact NHS 111, if =
they have symptoms/develop symptoms such as a cough, fever or difficulty =

* There is no evidence that individuals would benefit from the routine =
use of face masks outside of healthcare environments. In view of this, =
we do not recommend that employees wear face masks at work unless they =
are required to wear them for their work normally.=20
* Unless an individual has been officially informed that they have been =
in close contact with a person diagnosed as having COVID-19 there is no =
need for any person to self-isolate who is undergoing testing for the =
Covid-19 virus.

We know there is a lot of information being circulated on how to manage =
the Coronavirus: Covid-19 threat. Please see below some=20
protocols/processes that have been put in place and a reminder of =
official advice.
=20
1) Contractors should be asked about any travel before they go on a =
shift.=20
2) Suppliers should keep-up-to-date with the Coronavirus hotspots that =
are emerging, as these are changing rapidly and where necessary email =
updates to workers.
3) To ensure that misinformation is not spreading and everyone is =
working from the official advice please see attached the link =

4) Suppliers should remind workers that it is their responsibility to =
mention any travel that could compromise their health status and impress =
on them the seriousness of this. Anyone at risk of potentially having =
the virus due to recent travel patterns should self-isolate until they =
are outside the incubation period and should not work.=20
5) Good hygiene has never been more critical. This includes the advice =
to:
* Avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
* Stay home when they are sick.
* Cover coughs or sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the =
trash.
* Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a =
regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
* Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, =
especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing =
noses, coughing, or sneezing.
* If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand =
sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and =
water if hands are visibly dirty.
=20
6) If people have been requested to self-isolate and they are unsure =
what this means, please advise that they should take simple, =
common-sense steps to avoid close contact with other people as much as =
possible like they would with other flu viruses. This means remaining at =
home for 14 days and not going to work, school or public areas. Where =
possible, they should avoid having visitors to their home, but =
it=E2=80=99s ok for friends, family or delivery drivers to drop off =
food. They should not use public transport or taxis. They should contact =
a friend, family member or delivery services to carry out errands on =
their behalf or take their children to school.
