Following on from my last contact, I wanted to touch base to see if you
had thought anymore about your plans for 2021, and whether a sale or
phased exit from Sarah Harvey Limited is on the cards, and to keep you
updated on the latest developments within the M&A industry.
Following the Spring Budget announcement, Capital Gains Tax is set to
remain at 20%. It had previously been believed it would be significantly
increased to recoup some of the growing costs of the COVID-19 relief
scheme, however it is now set to remain until the next budget review.
In addition to this, Business Asset Disposal Relief (BADR), previously
known as Entrepreneurs� Relief, has also remained untouched. This means
that eligible business owners who opt to sell all or part of their shares,
will pay just 10% tax on the first �1m of gains on qualifying assets.
Due to these favourable conditions, we have seen a continued rise in
active buyers looking to invest into the UK market, with many bringing
their plans forward as a result of the global events of the past twelve
months.
