Hi Ben,
When you start you are put on standard 1250L. We have not been notified of
the 1125 but we have received notification to change your tax code to 699L
which will mean that they will lower your tax code and you will pay more
tax.
Unfortunately we can’t ask them why as they will not give us information on
employees personal tax and we have to adjust to what they ask us.
I will say that they are forever making individual mistakes and you will
need to discuss it with them. They are pretty useless. We sometimes get
several changes for individual employees. 699L is very low.
If you call them they will check it for you. Like I said they are always
making mistakes on tax codes.
Have your payslip to hand and any previous payslips from old jobs.
Our tax office is cumbernaught and the tax reference is 190 BA38546
I wont change your tax code until you’ve spoken to them.

In the last 2-weeks I've had three letters from HMRC about my tax code
changing, and every time it's dropped lower it started off at 1250L which is
what it normally is, then it went to 1125 I think.
Now I've just had a letter through saying I owe them tax and it's going to
go down to 699L , can you tell me if this is right and have they got the
right information?
I've always thought I've paid them too much tax I don't know why they are
saying I owe them money and they've dropped my tax free down to 699L ?
Meaning I'm going to pay more tax each week can you tell me if this is right
please? And if this is just till April 2021 end of the tax year.
