East Midlands Railway and Thameslink services from St Pancras International
Until Sunday 29 December, there will be no East Midlands Railway (EMR) or
Thameslink services from St Pancras International towards Harpenden, Luton
or Bedford.
For Thameslink destinations including Luton, Luton Airport, Harpenden and St
Albans City, use alternative national rail services from King's Cross and
change at either Potters Bar or Hitchin for replacement buses.
For Bedford and EMR destinations in the East Midlands and South Yorkshire,
use alternative national rail services from Euston to Milton Keynes Central
and change for replacement buses.
For local Thameslink journeys between St Pancras and Harpenden, use
replacement buses. To plan your journey, visit the National Rail website

A reduced service will run between London Fields and Chingford, Enfield Town
and Cheshunt. Liverpool Street mainline station will be closed until
Wednesday 1 January.
For travel between central London and Enfield Town/Cheshunt, use the
Victoria line and change at Seven Sisters. For travel between central London
and Chingford, use the Victoria line and change at Walthamstow Central.
Liverpool Street mainline station closure
Liverpool Street mainline station will be closed for improvement work.
This will affect London Overground Weaver line, Greater Anglia and Stansted
Express services.
Tube and Elizabeth line services will continue to run, but access via the
mainline station will not be available. To enter/exit the Tube station, use
the outside entrance on the corner of Old Broad Street. To enter/exit the
Elizabeth line station, use the outside entrance near Blomfield Street.

Overnight services will run eastbound only from Stratford to Gidea Park, and
westbound only from Paddington National Rail station to Hayes & Harlington.
There will be no overnight service on the rest of the line.
Wednesday 1 January
A Saturday service will run
DLR
Until Monday 30 December
No service between Bank and Shadwell
Use alternative Tube services and local bus routes. This is due to planned
maintenance work at Bank station.
Tuesday 31 December
Overnight services will run
A Saturday service will run during the day and on Wednesday 1 January.
Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes over the festive
period. We expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted
or stop short of their normal destination.
Festive Road User Charging operating hours
If you're planning to drive in London during the festive period, remember
that the central London Congestion Charge will not operate from Wednesday 25
December until Wednesday 1 January 2025 (inclusive).
The Ultra Low Emission Zone, which operates across all London boroughs
except the M25, and the Low Emission Zone, which covers most of Greater
London, will continue to operate as usual.

O2 Arena
From 10:30 until 12:30, and from 14:30 until 16:30, the O2 Arena will be
hosting a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are
excepted before and after each event.
Friday 27 December until Friday 5 January
Kew Gardens
From 16:30 until 22:30 each evening, Kew Gardens will be hosting a Christmas
event. Large crowds are expected.
Saturday 28 December
Twickenham Stadium
From 15:00 until 19:30, Twickenham Stadium will host a rugby match with kick
off at 18:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before
and after the match.
Saturday 28 until Monday 30 December
Central London
From 21:00 on Saturday 28 until 01:00 the following morning, there will be
multiple road closures across central London for New Year's Eve event
preparations, including Horseferry Road from 21:00 to 23:00, Millbank from
23:00, Blackfriars Bridge and Waterloo Bridge.
From 20:00 on Sunday 29 until 03:00 the following morning, there will be
multiple road closures including Strand until 22:00, Albert Embankment from
01:00, and Upper Thames Street from 22:00 until 23:59.
From 20:00 on Monday 30 until 04:00 the following morning, there will be
multiple road closures including Charing Cross Road until 22:00, Pall Mall
East from 22:00 until 23:59, Blackfriars Road from 00:01 until 02:00,
Waterloo Road from 02:00, Westminster Bridge and Whitehall.
Tuesday 31 December
Central London
From 12:00 onwards, all roads will be closed between The Mall, Strand, Fleet
Street to Lambeth North, The Cut and Blackfriars Bridge Road for the annual
New Year's Eve event. Roads will be also be closed between Lambeth Bridge
and Southwark Bridge, as well as all roads surrounding St James's Park and
Green Park from 19:00. Some bridges will close from 14:00. Large crowds will
be expected throughout the day.
Wednesday 1 January
Central London
Multiple roads will be closed around central London for the de-rig of the
New Year's Eve event, including Waterloo Road until 00:30, Cockspur Street
from 02:00 until 03:00, Charing Cross Road from 20:00 until 21:00, Pall Mall
East from 21:00 until 22:00, Victoria Street from 22:00 until 23:00, as well
as the following roads throughout the day:
* Farringdon Street, Kennington Road, Lambeth Road, Queen Victoria Street,
Southampton Row, Southwark Street, Westminster Bridge Road
From 03:00 until 18:00, multiple roads will be closed around central London
for the New Year's Day Parade. The parade will start from Piccadilly at
12:00 and finish at Parliament Street at 15:30, via Piccadilly Circus, Lower
Regent Street, Pall Mall and Whitehall. Participants and floats will form up
on Berkeley Square, Arlington Street and Piccadilly (west of Arlington
Street) to join the parade. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are
expected.
Friday 3 January until Monday 17 February
A40 Westway
On weekends from Friday 3 January to Monday 17 February, the A40 Westway
will be closed eastbound between the Westway roundabout and Marylebone
Flyover. The closure takes place at weekends only from 22:00 on Fridays to
05:00 Mondays. This is while we carry out safety critical improvements.
