I'm just totally devasted! And speechless. Please see below.
I'm unbelievably sorry. Please let the manager know that I've done
everything I could do to get this lady into the role.
I find it embarrassing for Sarah Harvey as a business to let down JLR and
yourselves.
I thought I'd send you the whole email. Can you please forward this to the
hiring manager and again express this was totally a surprise and out of my

Hi Bob
This is not going to make me popular I'm afraid. After long and hard
consideration, I have decided not to pursue the JLR opportunity.
Please let me clarify, this has been an extremely difficult decision for
me to make. We have spoken at length on several occasions and I hope you
will appreciate, that I am not the sort of individual who feels
comfortable letting people down. From a future relationship perspective, I
know this will do damage. I do however, need to put myself and my family
first.
JLR took some time to make the decision and understandably, things moved
on for me in that period, but nothing was clear-cut. I started my current
contract and because this was very short-term, I also interviewed for an
alternative contract role in Coventry. Last week, I was offered an FTC
with the current business and I have also been offered the alternative
contract role. The reason I'm not going to pursue JLR is because I feel
out of all three offers, this particular role at JLR is not as broad in
scope and in addition, pays considerably less that the alternative
contract role in Coventry. I still have a decision to make, but overall, I
just can't make JLR stack up against the other options on the table.
Honestly, I am not at all comfortable it has come to this at such a late
stage, but it has all been down to opportunities Vs timing.
I'm sure it won't help anything but please can you ensure JLR are fully
aware of the reasons I am not taking the position.
I sincerely apologise for this situation.
