You’ve still got time to make the most of your annual pension allowance
before 5 April. You can do that by giving an extra boost to your pension
contributions if you can afford to.
The more you pay into your pension, the more tax relief you can get, and the
more your pot could grow over time.
For most people, the annual pension allowance is £60,000 a year, or 100% of
earnings, whichever’s lower. This limit is across all pensions you might
have, including any contributions elsewhere.
Whether you have a current or historic company pension or a private
arrangement, it could still be worth having an additional pension to boost
your overall retirement pot and give you flexibility over when and how to
take your money out.

Make your money more tax efficient
• Everyone is entitled to 20% basic rate tax relief on their pension
contributions, up to the annual allowance. This means that for every £1,000
you contribute yourself, an extra £250 is automatically added from HMRC.
• Higher and Additional Rate Taxpayers could also claim an additional
20-25% tax relief back from HMRC, through self-assessment.
