Do you remember Ask Jeeves and typing full questions into the internet.
Everyone took the mickey, especially when someone typed into Google as if
they were speaking to a person.

Then we all adapted. Bye Bye Jeeves.
We stopped asking full questions and started searching in short, clipped
phrases.
“Business coach Warwickshire.”, “Car charger installation near me.” or if we
needed to apologise to our significant others “Same day delivery Florist
near me.”.
We trained ourselves to speak the language of the search engine but now it's
gone full circle and people are asking full questions again. They are typing
them into AI tools, speaking them into phones, dictating into search boxes,
and expecting and getting a useful answer back and then even having
conversations!
So the business question isn't just “how do I rank for a keyword?” but “How
do I become part of the answer when someone asks the question?”
Tip:
Write for the question, not just the keyword
Keywords still matter. Technical SEO still matters. Your website still needs
to be clear, fast, structured, mobile-friendly and properly connected to
your Google Business Profile. We're rebuilding ours at the minute for this
exact reason because it's gone as far as it can go!
AI search has made one thing even more important:
Your content needs to answer the real questions people ask before they
enquire.
For the electrician, it is not only: “Car charger installation Warwick.” It
is also:
“How quickly can a EV charger installed at my house?”
“How much does car charger installation cost?”
“Do I need a certain type of fuse board?”
“How long does an EICR take?”
“What happens if my rental property fails an EICR?”
Those are the questions people ask when they are closer to making a
decision.
It is the same in our world. Business owners do not search “business coach”
and then choose one like they are buying a kettle. A lot of them are
searching around the problem first.
“How do I get my team to take more ownership?”
“Why does everything in my business still come back to me?”
“How much does a business coach cost?”
“How do I scale past £5m?”
“What should a leadership team meeting include?”

Search is becoming more human again
For years, businesses built content around keywords because that was how

tools because it feels private, quick and low-risk and tailored to them.
Because many customers, especially business owners, do not always want to
ask the honest question out loud.
They might not want to admit they do not understand pricing. They might feel
awkward asking whether they need a certain certificate. They might not want
to say they are overwhelmed, stuck, under-confident, or unsure how to scale.
But they will ask Google.
They will ask ChatGPT.
They will ask Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, or whatever tool they have open.
So your job is to make sure your business has useful, clear, credible
answers in the places those tools can learn from.
That means good service pages, proper FAQs, clear explanations, reviews,
case studies, proof, local signals, useful articles, and content that sounds
like it was written by someone who actually understands the customer’s
problem.
Not keyword soup or generic AI copy but real CONVERSATIONS from real
questions.
Start writing for the questions your next customer is already asking and
then write the next two they'll ask next.
