Goodbye January, Hello February!
A new month heralds a fresh round of news to catch up on, and so without
further ado, we welcome you to February's edition of our monthly newsletter
and our second newsletter of 2025!
Buzzing about Beer…
There's lots to get excited now that January is over. As January is very
much a practice month we’ve decided to kick start February with a couple of
offers on beer. When you buy any 10 items within our Beer, Cider and Mead
selection we’ll give you 10 %. For those only in need of a small top up you
can get 10% off our Brewery of the month beers when you purchase 3.
Brewery of the Month: Vocation Brewery
The Brewery was originally set up in a chicken shed. It has now progressed
to a much larger home based in Hebden bridge, West Yorkshire. Vocation
Brewing believe in crafting Bold and Beautiful beer for the many. Making
beer they consider should be an experience to be enjoyed and their vast
array of styles means that their truly is a beer for any occasion. The beers
we will have instock from the 1st of February are as follows:

Wine Tasting: More Studious Than You'd Think!

So unfortunately we had to shut on the 21st of January to allow Becca and
James to head to the Kia Oval for Liberty Wines' Annual Portfolio Tasting.
It was a great opportunity to scout out some great new wines for the shop as
well as some research to for our upcoming tastings. There were some definite
highlights to the tasting. James discovered some great Rhone grape varietal
wines (Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne). His favourite being the Rousanne by
Truchard, a producer we already stock. Keep your eyes peeled for this
arriving into store shortly. In the afternoon there was lots of New World
reds tasted. Montes and Kaiken remained two of the favourites and James very
much enjoyed learning about what made these wines so special. Becca
meanwhile found some incredible wines to go on our upcoming tastings.
Notable inclusion was a delicious Blaufrankish for the upcoming Austria and
Germany on the 7th February (places still available).
The following week, Becca jetted off to London once again to attend
Hallgarten's Annual Tasting armed with a well planned out list of wines to
explore and scout out for future events, discovering a few surprises too!
Her discoveris are likewise on their way to landing on our shelves and
making an appearance at our tastings, and we can't wait to see what you
think!
And Speaking of Tastings...
In case you missed it, our tasting events have returned and we couldn't be
happier-sharing and learning about wine is one of the many things that make
our job so great. First up is our Wines of Austria & Germany night on Friday
7th February: with just a handful of tickets left, we're loving that you're
just as excited to explore the viticulture of these two fantastic countries!
To follow, our Wines of Sicily event on Friday 7th March is similarly
getting booked up, and we're planning more for April-watch this space! As
always, we recommend booking in before the tickets are sold out, and it's
super easy: just head to our webite or give us a visit in the shop!

not, we can all agree it's the perfect excuse to enjoy a bottle of wine and

definite highlights to the tasting. James discovered some great Rhone =
grape varietal wines (Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne). His favourite =
being the Rousanne by Truchard, a producer we already stock. Keep your =
eyes peeled for this arriving into store shortly. In the afternoon there =
was lots of New World reds tasted. Montes and Kaiken remained two of the =
favourites and James very much enjoyed learning about what made these =
wines so special. Becca meanwhile found some incredible wines to =
go on our upcoming tastings. Notable inclusion was a delicious =
Blaufrankish for the upcoming Austria and Germany on the 7</span><sup =
style=3D"color: #000000;text-align: right;">th</sup><span =
style=3D"text-align:right"> February (places still =
