Changes to our Business Banking Terms & Conditions, Business Price List and
some Additional Conditions
Dear Customer
We're making some changes to our Business Banking Terms & Conditions,
Business Price List and some Additional Conditions with effect from 15
December 2025.
You can find out what these changes are in the 'Guide to changes' below.
What you need to do
We hope you'll accept the changes to our Business Banking Terms &
Conditions, Business Price List and Additional Conditions. If you do, you
don't need to do anything, and we'll apply the changes from 15 December
2025. You'll be able to download the new terms from that date at

If you don't accept the changes which only relate to specific accounts,
services or products, including changes to the Business Price List, you'll
only have to close the account or stop using the products or services to
which the changes relate (e.g. Business Notice Account).
However, if you don't accept the changes to the Business Banking Terms &
Conditions, you'll need to close all your accounts and stop using all
services. You can close the account(s) without charge1 digitally or by
completing a Business Account Closure form at

15 December 2025.
Please note, you'll still have to pay any charges that accrue before you

The right to end your agreement and close an account without charge doesn't
apply to the Fixed Term Deposit account or International Fixed Term Deposit
Account. For these accounts, the changes won't take effect until your fixed
deposit matures. For Business Notice Accounts, if you let us know that you
do not accept the changes, we'll take that as an instruction to serve notice
to close your account(s) which will therefore close at the end of the notice
period.

Guide to changes
The following changes will take effect from 15 December 2025.
Business Banking Terms & Conditions
Part 1 - Relationship Terms
•
We're adding wording to explain that you can also contact us using your HSBC
UK Business Banking app.
•
We're clarifying that you must comply with laws, regulations and other
obligations that apply to you in relation to your use of our products and
services.
•
We're clarifying that you must give us any information about yourself that
we need to comply with laws, regulations and other obligations that apply to
us.
Part 2 - Terms & Conditions for your business accounts and related services
•
We're changing the name of 'electronic wallet' to 'digital wallet'.
•
We're explaining that you can't make cash deposits directly into a foreign
currency account.
•
We're removing the information about depositing foreign currency and non-UK
sterling cheques because this service will no longer be available. We're
also clarifying that you can only deposit UK sterling cheques and that you
can only pay them into your sterling account.
•
We're clarifying that you can only write sterling cheques, and you can only
pay them from your sterling account.
•
We're clarifying what we'll do if we suspect that money has been paid into
your account in connection with fraud or criminal activity.
•
Our cut-off times for making some electronic payments will now be available
at <http://email.business.hsbc.co.uk/r/?id=h381a24e,18bcf6d,10fa7ec>
business.hsbc.uk/legal. These electronic payments are: non-sterling
transfers, sterling transfers to non-sterling accounts and some
international payments.
•
We're moving the terms of our Global Wallet service to the Business Banking
Terms & Conditions. The Global Wallet service allows you to hold money in
multiple currencies so you can make and receive payments in those currencies
and avoid deductions of correspondent or intermediary bank fees.
•
We're clarifying when we pay interest into your account and when we take
interest from your account.
•
We're clarifying where you can find more information about our charges and
how the charges are taken.
•
We're removing the information about our Business Text Message Banking
service because this service is no longer available.
•
We're clarifying that if your account is closed, any outstanding rights or
obligations, which relate to the period before closure, aren't affected.
•
We're clarifying when we can withdraw services, end our agreement or close
your account immediately and without notice.
Business Price List
•
We're introducing an example of how you're charged for paying in cash at a
branch or Post Office® counter.
•
We're clarifying the description of the charge for 'Bulk cash credit' and
'Bulk cash paid in'.
•
We're changing our description of the charge for a Direct Debit payment made
from or returned to your account.
•
For current accounts, we're also going to merge the charge for a standing
order payment made from your account with the charge for a Direct Debit
payment made or returned to your account.
•
We're removing the 'Other debits' charge which applies when you make
electronic transfers out of your current account.
•
We're going to merge the description of some of the charges for Bill
Payments.
•
We're including charges for receiving a payment through Tap to Pay.
•
We're clarifying the charge for making a CHAPS payment to a HSBC UK account,
or an account at another bank, through Business Telephone Banking or in a
branch.
•
We've previously told you about a £40.00 charge for making a CHAPS payment
by post. In the past, we didn't always fully apply this charge, however,
we're making operational changes so that we can fully apply this charge.
•
We're clarifying that the charge for 'change giving' applies to providing
change at a Post Office® counter, as well as a branch counter.
•
We're removing the charge for cancelling a Direct Debit or standing order
over the phone, in branch or by post.
•
We're removing the charge for foreign cheques paid from your sterling
account in another currency because this service is not available.
•
We're clarifying that, where we charge for copies of statements, we'll
charge you £1.00 per statement, up to a maximum of £10.00.
•
We're explaining that auditors can use confirmation.com to request
certificates however confirmation.com may charge a fee.
•
We're removing the charge for the Business pay in service because this
service is no longer available.
•
We're adding wording to clarify that payments received in Euro (EUR) and
Swedish Krona (SEK) from the European Economic Area (EEA) continue to be
free (except SEPA Credit Transfers).
•
We're removing 'fax' as an example of an international transaction
communication charge.
Business Internet Banking Additional Conditions
•
We're adding wording to explain that some features of Business Internet
Banking are not available on a desktop.
•
We're adding wording to explain that you can manage Business Telephone
Banking using Business Internet Banking. Your Primary User can:
–
view your Business Telephone Banking users;
–
add new Business Telephone Banking users, if the new user is a signatory on
the mandate and is a Business Internet Banking user;
–
initiate a password/security credential reset for themselves and other
users;
–
revoke access for Business Telephone Banking users.
Secondary Users will be able to complete their Business Telephone Banking
user registration or password/security credential reset.
•
We're adding wording to explain that, once we add new functionality, you'll
be able to request merchant acquiring systems which will allow you to accept
card payments from your customers. You'll be able to set up and use Tap to
Pay which will allow you to accept these payments using your HSBC UK
Business Banking app.
•
We're changing the name of 'electronic wallet' to 'digital wallet'.
Business Telephone Banking Additional Conditions
•
We're adding wording to explain that the Primary User in Business Internet
Banking can appoint an Additional User in Business Telephone Banking, as
long as the Additional User is a signatory on your mandate and a Business
Internet Banking user. The Primary User in Business Internet Banking can
also revoke the access of a Business Telephone Banking user.
•
We're removing the wording that explains how to contact us to end your use
of Business Telephone Banking.
Global Wallet Additional Conditions
•
We're moving the terms of our Global Wallet service into the Business
Banking Terms & Conditions, so we're demising the Global Wallet Additional
Conditions. You'll also be able to find more information about Global Wallet
in a guide that we make available to you.
Virtual cards
We sent you a Notice of Variation in November 2024 which became effective on
11 February 2025. In this Notice of Variation, we told you that we were
going to make a change to the Business Banking Terms & Conditions explaining
that if you held a Commercial Card, your Business Internet Banking Primary
User would be able to generate virtual cards and add controls using our
virtual card portal, however, we have not made that change.
Instead, you should refer to the Business Internet Banking Additional
Conditions and Commercial Card Terms and Conditions for information about
virtual cards.
