David�s response:



Yesterday absence:

David currently has problems with his son who has been in and out of
hospital this year.

On returning from Cyprus from his holiday he stated that he contacted his
manager directly through whatsapp to explain the situation and that he had
spent most of the day in hospital with his son. He had no apparent reply
from the manager.

David mentioned that throughout his holiday that he had been chasing work
related issues. And trying to resolve the IT issue. He also mentioned that
his manager had told him not to worry about the issue until he returned
from holiday.

Which means to us timesheets were not approved.



The timesheets problem:

David states  that he has constantly asked his manager to review the
problem of timesheets and logging into the software that he is using.
David says that he has contacted his manager on numerous occasions
regarding the fact that his email was not working and he couldn�t log on.
He�s also telephoned the help desk directly. His manager (Giorgian)
apparently was on holiday and said that he would sort this on his return.
He had mentioned previously that he had issues with email and problems
logging in and that he would discuss this with his manager Giorgian,

There are not tickets from helpdesk David stated that as he could not
login or get into the system he had to call the helpdesk.



Work ethic and performance:

This is not something for us to judge:  but David has stated that he feels
that he has not had the support that he should be getting from the
management team and feels that they have let him down. He doesn�t feel
that this has affected his performance but the communication is poor and
the IT troubles has caused him to think about his future with the
organisation. Since the team changed last month apparently the support has
not been there.

He does like working for Mondelez and he has got dedication to the role
but just feels that there is no support.



Obviously this is only David�s side so we can only relay what he has
stated, the manager and David need to discuss this in more detail to
resolve the issues.



Concern for us is these timesheets have regularly been approved late and
we now have two outstanding which have been paid to David already.

Please could you raise the below with your contractor David Whitehurst
asap and let us know when you have done so, as well as his response.



28/9 - Our colleague David is off on holiday at the min. [he is back next
Tue, 4th Oct].  Over the past 2 weeks he claimed that he had IT issues
with the PC and unable to logon onto the MDLZ network etc� yet he raised
the timesheets [claiming he was constantly chasing IT, hence it�s a MDLZ
issue].  I asked him for the IT tickets raised and conversation he might
have had with the MDLZ IT, but I haven�t received anything yet.



He said that 2 weeks before his holiday, that due to not being able to
connect to the MDLZ network and Office/Teams, he was not able to work on
some projects for nearly.  But then he never shared any print screens of
escalations/etc�with me.



As his reporting manager, I was thinking to sit down with him next week to
understand this lack of proactivity and engagement of this topic, and also
openly ask him if he is still commitment to this role�



It is not about the approval of the timesheets, but more of the work
ethic/principle and the fact that put me in an embarrassing position that
I didn�t know why he was not able to provide updates nor the fact that I
was not able to support his case when my line manger from Zurich asked for
updates on this matter and offline projects.



David only communicated with me via the WhatsApp every few days, and he is
on holidays now.  So I called the IT team at MDLZ, raised an IT ticket and
they said his account is working fine.  They reset his MDLZ
account/password, and they advised me when David returns from holidays for
us to call IT and they will remotely connect to his PC to check the status
of the applications if all ok on this PC.



When asking IT, they shared that all accounts/licences are working fine,
hence they were not able to confirm if they can see an actual issue at all
[from their side � all are ok].  They asked me to provide the IT ticket
that David may have raised [which I don�t have], as they couldn�t see any
IT tickets raised under his name.



Overall, not sure what we could do next or best way to handle the case [as
after speaking with my colleague Embiye and my manager Sonia, I also
understood that there were some performance issues with delivering some
tasks while I was on holiday during Aug, hence my note here, as we can see
some lack of commitment, engagement and dedication, which is sad,
considering that we only recently extended his appointment].



I just had my connect call with my manager Sonia around David, and wanted
to run below notes by you, just to get your advice / alignment on the next
steps�



We hope that tomorrow David is back and his �IT issues� fixed/closed � if
not, I will follow-up on his behalf and escalate that to the IT teams
internally, etc�

If David provides the evidence over the period where he had no IT access,
etc� and he shares the IT tickets raised internally with the helpdesk, we
can also approve them 2 x timesheets that are pending approval [to us � is
not about the money, but more the principle, the work ethic and the mature
approach � which we struggle with at the min.  David could have consulted
with me to ask for the permission to raise them timesheets during that
period, so we are aligned for this, rather than taking it for granted and
just put them on the system expecting the timesheets to be approved by
default].



His performance dropped over the past 2 months [Aug & Sept], and we can
see a lack of commitment, lack of engagement with the MDLZ stakeholders
and suppliers and general low interest in this role [we barely see any
emails or actions/follow-ups from him, and all the time we need to chase
him for updates/etc�there is no proactivity or personal initiative to
achieve the team�s goals/expectations].

Maybe this topic can also be raised with his agency, so they have a word
with him on his dedication to the role and if this is still of interest to
him.  If he is no longer interested in this, maybe he can also tell us
upfront, so we don�t waste the time, but move on�



I want to also speak a bit with him tomorrow, if he is back after his
holidays [if you allow me to do so], just to ask for the IT tickets raised
[if any] and his intentions and next steps, as we would like to give him
the opportunity to provide such feedback.



Then, we can review the next steps, as for the past 1+ month, I have seen
very little output and low performance from David, and potentially this
role is no longer suitable for him [e.g. he actually shared some time ago
the fact that �having to �flex/adapt� in line with the business needs on
the logistics market each day, like solving supplier claims or ongoing
negotiations, etc� in his views the role is not �defined� and he doesn�t
really like that at all. I think he was hoping to eventually get into a
permanent role with MDLZ, but at the min. we have a lot of concerns about
the next steps with him].



4/10 - As I�m typing this email today at 11:15 am, I have not received
anything from David yet.  Today David supposed to return to work after
this holidays, but not got any notifications [if all ok and his IT account
sorted, etc.], neither via the MDLZ Teams nor on his mobile
phone/WhatsApp.

If he may have some other intentions behind the scene [maybe via his
agency], would be good to know asap.

stated that he contacted his manager directly through whatsapp to =
explain the situation and that he had spent most of the day in hospital =
with his son. He had no apparent reply from the manager.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">David mentioned that throughout his holiday that =
he had been chasing work related issues. And trying to resolve the IT =
issue. He also mentioned that his manager had told him not to worry =
about the issue until he returned from holiday.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><b>Which means to us timesheets were not =
approved.<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><b><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></b></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><b>The timesheets problem:<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">David states &nbsp;that he has constantly asked =
his manager to review the problem of timesheets and logging into the =
software that he is using. David says that he has contacted his manager =
on numerous occasions regarding the fact that his email
 was not working and he couldn&#8217;t log on. He&#8217;s also =
telephoned the help desk directly. His manager (Giorgian) apparently was =
on holiday and said that he would sort this on his return. He had =
mentioned previously that he had issues with email and problems logging
 in and that he would discuss this with his manager =
Giorgian,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">There are not tickets from helpdesk David stated =
that as he could not login or get into the system he had to call the =
helpdesk.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><b>Work ethic and performance:<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><b>This is not something for us to judge: =
&nbsp;</b>but David has stated that he feels that he has not had the =
support that he should be getting from the management team and feels =
that they have let him down. He doesn&#8217;t feel that this has =
affected
 his performance but the communication is poor and the IT troubles has =
caused him to think about his future with the organisation. Since the =
team changed last month apparently the support has not been =
there.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">He does like working for Mondelez and he has got =
dedication to the role but just feels that there is no =
support.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">Obviously this is only David&#8217;s side so we =
can only relay what he has stated, the manager and David need to discuss =
this in more detail to resolve the issues.<o:p></o:p></p>

regularly been approved late and we now have two outstanding which have =

2 weeks he claimed that he had IT issues with the PC and unable to logon =
onto the MDLZ network etc&#8230; yet he raised the timesheets
 [claiming he was constantly chasing IT, hence it&#8217;s a MDLZ =
issue].&nbsp; I asked him for the IT tickets raised and conversation he =
might have had with the MDLZ IT, but I haven&#8217;t received anything =
yet.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">He said that 2 weeks before his holiday, that due =
to not being able to connect to the MDLZ network and Office/Teams, he =
was not able to work on some projects for nearly.&nbsp; But then he =
never shared any print screens of escalations/etc&#8230;with
 me.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">As his reporting manager, I was thinking to sit =
down with him next week to understand this lack of proactivity and =
engagement of this topic, and also openly ask him if he is still =
commitment to this role&#8230;<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=3D"MsoNormal">It is not about the approval of the timesheets, =
but more of the work ethic/principle and the fact that put me in an =
embarrassing position that I didn&#8217;t know why he was not able to =
provide updates nor the fact that I was not able to support
 his case when my line manger from Zurich asked for updates on this =
matter and offline projects.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">David only communicated with me via the WhatsApp =
every few days, and he is on holidays now.&nbsp; So I called the IT team =
at MDLZ, raised an IT ticket and they said his account is working =
fine.&nbsp; They reset his MDLZ account/password, and they
 advised me when David returns from holidays for us to call IT and they =
will remotely connect to his PC to check the status of the applications =
if all ok on this PC.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">When asking IT, they shared that all =
accounts/licences are working fine, hence they were not able to confirm =
if they can see an actual issue at all [from their side &#8211; all are =
ok].&nbsp; They asked me to provide the IT ticket that David may have
 raised [which I don&#8217;t have], as they couldn&#8217;t see any IT =
tickets raised under his name.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">Overall, not sure what we could do next or best =
way to handle the case [as after speaking with my colleague Embiye and =
my manager Sonia, I also understood that there were some performance =
issues with delivering some tasks while I was on
 holiday during Aug, hence my note here, as we can see some lack of =
commitment, engagement and dedication, which is sad, considering that we =
only recently extended his appointment].<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">I just had my connect call with my manager Sonia =
around David, and wanted to run below notes by you, just to get your =
advice / alignment on the next steps&#8230;<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">We hope that tomorrow David is back and his =
&#8216;IT issues&#8217; fixed/closed &#8211; if not, I will follow-up on =
his behalf and escalate that to the IT teams internally, =
etc&#8230;&nbsp;&nbsp;
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">If David provides the evidence over the period =
where he had no IT access, etc&#8230; and he shares the IT tickets =
raised internally with the helpdesk, we can also approve them 2 x =
timesheets that are pending approval [to us &#8211; is not about the
 money, but more the principle, the work ethic and the mature approach =
&#8211; which we struggle with at the min.&nbsp; David could have =
consulted with me to ask for the permission to raise them timesheets =
during that period, so we are aligned for this, rather than taking
 it for granted and just put them on the system expecting the timesheets =
to be approved by default].<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">His performance dropped over the past <b>2 =
months</b> [Aug &amp; Sept], and we can see a lack of commitment, lack =
of engagement with the MDLZ stakeholders and suppliers and general low =
interest in this role [we barely see any emails or actions/follow-ups
 from him, and all the time we need to chase him for =
updates/etc&#8230;there is no proactivity or personal initiative to =
achieve the team&#8217;s goals/expectations].
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">Maybe this topic can also be raised with his =
agency, so they have a word with him on his dedication to the role and =
if this is still of interest to him.&nbsp; If he is no longer interested =
in this, maybe he can also tell us upfront, so we don&#8217;t
 waste the time, but move on&#8230; <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">I want to also speak a bit with him tomorrow, if =
he is back after his holidays [if you allow me to do so], just to ask =
for the IT tickets raised [if any] and his intentions and next steps, as =
we would like to give him the opportunity to
 provide such feedback. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=3D"MsoNormal">Then, we can review the next steps, as for the =
past 1+ month, I have seen very little output and low performance from =
David, and potentially this role is no longer suitable for him [e.g. he =
actually shared some time ago the fact that &#8230;having
 to &#8216;flex/adapt&#8217; in line with the business needs on the =
logistics market each day, like solving supplier claims or ongoing =
negotiations, etc&#8230; in his views the role is not =
&#8216;defined&#8217; and he doesn&#8217;t really like that at all. I =
think he was hoping to eventually
 get into a permanent role with MDLZ, but at the min. we have a lot of =
concerns about the next steps with him].<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal"><o:p>&nbsp;</o:p></p>
<p class=3D"MsoNormal">4/10 - As I&#8217;m typing this email <u>today at =
11:15 am</u>, I have
<u>not</u> received anything from David yet.&nbsp; Today David supposed =
to return to work after this holidays, but not got any notifications [if =
all ok and his IT account sorted, etc.], neither via the MDLZ Teams nor =
on his mobile phone/WhatsApp.&nbsp;
