Monday 21 until Thursday 24 July
No service between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon after
23:30 each night
Use local bus routes. A Southern Railway replacement bus will depart from
London Bridge to Streatham Hill (via Crystal Palace) at 23:58, and to East
Croydon (via Norwood Junction) at 00:35.
DLR
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July
No service between Bank and Lewisham, between Tower Gateway and Canning
Town, and between Canary Wharf and Stratford (via Poplar)
Use Tube or national rail services, or local bus routes. Rail replacement
buses will run between Westferry and Canning Town via All Saints, between
Westferry and Island Gardens via Canary Wharf, and between Canada Water Bus
Station and Lewisham via Greenwich. This is while new trains are tested.
Monday 21 until Thursday 24 July
No service on the DLR after 23:00 each night
Use alternative Tube or rail services, or local bus routes. The network will
continue to run as normal during the day. This is due to essential track
works.
From Monday 21 July
Temporary DLR timetable changes
From Monday 21 July, temporary changes will be made to the DLR timetable
ahead of the introduction of a new fleet of trains later this year. The key
changes are:
* Services from Beckton to Canning Town/Stratford will not run (Tower
Gateway to Beckton services will still run as normal)
* Peak hour services (06:30 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 19:30, Monday to Friday)
between Stratford and Lewisham will not run. If you are travelling between
Stratford and Lewisham, you will need to change at Canary Wharf to continue
your journey. Bank to Lewisham services will run as normal
* Services between Canary Wharf and Stratford will run every five minutes
during peak hours, and every six to seven minutes during off-peak hours
These changes are necessary because some of the oldest DLR trains will need
to be taken out of service this summer. These temporary changes will ensure
that a safe and reliable service is maintained.
The first of the new DLR trains will enter service later this year and when
enough of the new trains are in service, we will restore the full timetable
across the network.
London Trams
The following closures are due to essential engineering work.
Monday 14 until Tuesday 22 July
No service to/from Elmers End, or between Reeves Corner and East Croydon
Use local bus routes.
Wednesday 23 until Sunday 27 July
No service to/from Elmers End, or between Wandle Park and East Croydon
Use local bus routes. Tram replacement buses will run between Waddon Marsh
and East Croydon.
Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes over the weekend. We
expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.
Thursday 17 July
Central London
From 12:00 until 18:00, a demonstration will take place outside the Home
Office. Large crowds are expected.
Thursday 17 until Saturday 19 July
Indoor entertainment venues and stadiums
Music, comedy and sporting events will take place in the below venues at the
following dates and times:
* O2 Arena - 18:30 until 22:30, Thursday 17 and Saturday 19 July
* Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - 17:00 until 22:30, Friday 18 and Saturday 19
July
* Wembley Arena - 19:00 until 22:30, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 July
* London Stadium - 11:00 until 16:00, Saturday 19 July
* Wembley Stadium - 17:00 until 23:00, Saturday 19 July
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after each
event, with local road closures in place around stadiums.
Friday 18 July
Oval Cricket Ground
From 17:30 until 21:30, a cricket match will take place at Oval Cricket
Ground, with start of play at 18:30. Large crowds and increased traffic
levels are expected before and after the match.
Friday 18 until Sunday 20 July
Olympia
From 12:00 until 20:00 on Friday and from 10:00 until 17:00 on Saturday and
Sunday, Olympia London will host an exhibition. Large crowds and increased
traffic levels are expected.
Outdoor music festivals
Music festivals will take place at the following parks each day at specific
times:
* Alexandra Palace Park - 13:00 until 22:30, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 July
* Walpole Park - 12:00 until 22:00, Sunday 20 July
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected for each event.
Friday 18 until Monday 21 July
A3
From 21:00 on Friday 18 until 06:00 on Monday 21 July, the A3 will be closed
in both directions between the M25 Junction 10 gyratory and the Painshill

confirmed but will potentially head through Victoria Embankment, Westminster
Bridge, York Road, Waterloo Bridge, Strand and Whitehall. Large crowds and

From 10:30, a march will take place from the Chinese Embassy to Richmond
Terrace. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
London Stadium
From 11:00 until 16:00, London Stadium will host an athletics event. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Lords Cricket Ground
From 11:00 until 19:30, Lords Cricket Ground will host a cricket match.
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Sunday 20 July
Central London
From 10:00 until 14:00, a march will take place from Parliament Square to
BBC Portland Place. Large crowds are expected.
From 11:00 until 16:00, a religious procession will take place from Hyde
Park Corner to Trafalgar Square. Large crowds and increased traffic levels
are expected.
From 12:00 until 16:00, a demonstration will take place outside the Turkish
Embassy. Large crowds are expected.
Until Tuesday 29 July
A3 Clapham High Street/Clapham Road
From 21:00 to 05:00 each Sunday to Thursday night until Tuesday 29 July, the
A3 Clapham High Street will be closed between Clapham Park Road and
Stockwell Road.
Where possible, drivers should travel via Brixton Road and Brixton Hill
during these closures. Signed diversions will be in place for journeys in
the local area.
During the overnight closures, bus routes 88, 155, 322, 345 and N155 will be
on diversion, with routes 50 and P5 also diverted from Wednesday 23 until
Friday 25 July.

Swiss Cottage Gyratory and South Hampstead
College Crescent will be closed southbound between Buckland Crescent and the
junction of Avenue Road. The northbound lanes will remain open for road
vehicles and cyclists. Works will also take place on Alexandra Road from
Monday 1 until Saturday 20 September.
This is the first phase of a series of road and lane closures around Swiss
Cottage Gyratory and South Hampstead that will take place until Friday 17
July 2026, while HS2 carry out works to divert a gas main ahead of future
tunnelling works.
Diversions will be in place but delays to your journey are expected. Check

Friday 25 July until mid-December
Lambeth Bridge
From 21:00 on Friday 25 until 05:00 on Monday 28 July, Lambeth Bridge will
be closed to all motorised vehicles and cyclists in both directions.
From Monday 28 July until mid-December, Lambeth Bridge will be closed
eastbound (towards Lambeth). Segregated cycle lanes will be in place and
westbound traffic (towards Westminster) will be unaffected. Cyclists
travelling from Lambeth to Westminster will be in the traffic lane across
the bridge. Cyclists travelling from Westminster to Lambeth will use the
newly constructed cycleway.
For journeys towards Lambeth, bus routes 3, N3 and C10 will be diverted via
Vauxhall Bridge and Westminster Bridge. Bus routes 77, 87, 344 and N87 will
be affected by increased levels of traffic near Lambeth Bridge. Journeys on
these routes may take longer than usual.
Pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge to cross the river.
Use alternative river crossings. This is part of improvement works to
replace the unsignalised roundabouts at either end of Lambeth Bridge with
signal-controlled junctions.
Monday 4 August until spring 2027
A23 Streatham Hill
From Monday 4 August, there will be a series of lane restrictions in both
directions on the A23 between the junction with Holmewood Road on Brixton
Hill and the junction with B221 Sternhold Avenue on Streatham Hill.
This is for work on a new permanent road layout to improve walking, cycling
and bus journeys on the A23 Streatham Hill.
If you are travelling in the Streatham area, consider walking or cycling for
shorter journeys. If you're using the A23 for long distance journeys, use
the A24 or A3 instead. Allow more time for your journeys and check before
you travel.
The A23 will be closed between A205 Christchurch Road and B221 Sternhold
Avenue from 22:00 until 05:00 each night on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 August, in
order to safely install traffic management. Signed diversions will be in
place during this closure.

Temporary DLR timetable changes</h3>From Monday 21 =
July, temporary changes will be made to the DLR timetable ahead of the =
introduction of a new fleet of trains later this year. The key changes =
are:<ul>

Services from Beckton to Canning Town/Stratford will =
not run (Tower Gateway to Beckton services will still run as =
normal)</li><li>
Peak hour services (06:30 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 19:30, =
Monday to Friday) between Stratford and Lewisham will not run. If you =
are travelling between Stratford and Lewisham, you will need to change =
at Canary Wharf to continue your journey. Bank to Lewisham services will =
run as normal</li><li>
Services between Canary Wharf and Stratford will run =
every five minutes during peak hours, and every six to seven minutes =
during off-peak hours</li></ul>These changes are necessary because some =
of the oldest DLR trains will need to be taken out of service this =
summer. These temporary changes will ensure that a safe and reliable =
service is maintained. <br>

Lambeth Bridge</h3>From 21:00 on Friday 25 until 05:00 =
on Monday 28 July, Lambeth Bridge will be closed to all motorised =
vehicles and cyclists in both directions. <br>

From Monday 28 July until mid-December, Lambeth Bridge =
will be closed eastbound (towards Lambeth). Segregated cycle lanes will =
be in place and westbound traffic (towards Westminster) will be =
unaffected. Cyclists travelling from Lambeth to Westminster will be in =
the traffic lane across the bridge. Cyclists travelling from Westminster =
to Lambeth will use the newly constructed cycleway.<br>
<br>
For journeys towards Lambeth, bus routes 3, N3 and C10 =
will be diverted via Vauxhall Bridge and Westminster Bridge. Bus routes =
77, 87, 344 and N87 will be affected by increased levels of traffic near =
Lambeth Bridge. Journeys on these routes may take longer than usual.<br>
<br>
Pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge to =
cross the river. <br>
<br>
Use alternative river crossings. This is part of =
improvement works to replace the unsignalised roundabouts at either end =
of Lambeth Bridge with signal-controlled junctions.<h2 style=3D"">
Monday 4 August until spring 2027</h2><h3 style=3D"">
A23 Streatham Hill</h3>From Monday 4 August, there will =
be a series of lane restrictions in both directions on the A23 between =
the junction with Holmewood Road on Brixton Hill and the junction with =
B221 Sternhold Avenue on Streatham Hill. <br>
<br>
This is for work on a new permanent road layout to =
improve walking, cycling and bus journeys on the A23 Streatham Hill.<br>
<br>
If you are travelling in the Streatham area, consider =
walking or cycling for shorter journeys. If you're using the A23 for =
long distance journeys, use the A24 or A3 instead. Allow more time =
for your journeys and check before you travel.<br>
<br>
The A23 will be closed between A205 Christchurch Road =
and B221 Sternhold Avenue from 22:00 until 05:00 each night on Sunday 3 =
and Monday 4 August, in order to safely install traffic management. =
