I’ve been on holiday for two days and not picked up my email.
I’ve contacted Jason and we have agreed to furlough him for a maximum of
three weeks from his leaving date with you.
As I have made him aware its more than just a bit of extra paperwork as we
have payroll and factoring costs without being able to cover this with
invoices. Plus we do have to pay up front PAYE and NI for a month before we
get paid the furlough money.
Yes we will also Furlough Geoff from his finishing date with you for also a
maximum of 3 weeks if you are not taking him back as long as the furlough
grant is still being paid.. I will email him nearer the time to inform him
of the furlough details.
Can you confirm finishing dates for Jason will you be paying for his weeks’
notice this week? 18th may – 22nd may
Can you also confirm Geoff’s finishing date.
I’ve invoiced Gordon separate for last week. He will have one more invoice
for the hours that he has done this week and will start with you permanently
on Monday as discussed. Is this still the case.

Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to release our
agency employees. Geoffrey and Jason will be informed on Monday morning they

As a business all employees are now on Furlough from April 1st so that
includes agency employees like Gordon and Jason. We can therefore only be
invoiced up until April 1st 2020 for the hours they worked/were unable to
work. We had to make changes to the original agreement for obvious reasons.
From April 1st they will be furloughed and therefore on 80%. This is through
the government scheme and we will be claiming like everyone else. My
understanding is the employees work through the agency so you have to apply
for them to be furloughed and subsequently pay them if the business keeps
the job open. Is that correct?
Will you be writing to them and asking them if they wish to furlough?

So is the furlough pay going to be at Thwaites cost? Will it be full pay or
80% of salary or will you be topping it up and will it be based on 38 hours

payments to the contactors until we have received the government grant which
we are under the impression that this will be in May at the earliest before
the portal is up and running and that does not guarantee we will receive
funds then.
As you are expecting the Furlough to start from today. What do you want us
to pay your contractors for last week as we have no timesheets from last
week?
We were under the impression that you would pay salaries for three weeks (as
below) Has this now changed?
We just need a bit more clarity from you of how you want to work it.
Obviously its new to everyone and we are all learning every day but this is

Thwaites will be shutting down for 3 week’s from 30th March and we have
asked all employees including agency workers that the hours will be banked
hours that will be owed to us over 1 year. Agency workers are included in
this as we only have a small number. So this means your personnel will be
paid a standard week for those 3 week’s but holiday would have been required
to use for the Easter days which is Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th.
On return we will be expecting everyone to pay back these hours at a rate of
2 hours per week over 1 year, hope you understand this.

may not be able to make payments to the contactors until we have =
received the government grant which we are under the impression that =
this will be in May at the earliest before the portal is
up and running and that does not guarantee we will receive funds =

today. What do you want us to pay your contractors for last week as we =

have asked all employees including agency workers that the hours will be =
banked hours that will be owed to us over 1 year. Agency
workers are included in this as we only have a small number. So this =
means your personnel will be paid a standard week for those 3 =
week=E2=80=99s but holiday would have been required to use for the =
Easter days which is Monday 16<sup>th</sup> and Tuesday =
17<sup>th</sup>.</span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
