Changes to our Terms & Conditions, Business Price List and some Additional 
Conditions

Dear Customer

We're writing to let you know we're making some changes to our Business 
Banking Terms & Conditions, Business Price List and some Additional 
Conditions with effect from 11 February 2025. You can find out what these 
changes are in the 'Guide to changes' below.

What you need to do

We hope you'll accept the changes to our Business Banking Terms & 
Conditions, Business Price List and Additional Conditions. If you do, you 
don't need to do anything, and we'll apply the changes from 11 February 
2025. You'll be able to download the new terms from that date at

business.hsbc.uk/legal.

If you don't accept the changes which only relate to specific accounts, 
services or products, including changes to the Business Price List, you'll 
only have to close the account or stop using the products or services to 
which the changes relate (e.g. Business Notice Account).

However, if you don't accept the changes to the Business Banking Terms & 
Conditions, you'll need to close all your accounts and stop using all 
services. You can close the account(s) without charge1 digitally or by 
completing a Business Account Closure form which can be found on our website

business.hsbc.uk/business-account-closure - you'll need to complete this by 
11 February 2025.

Please note, you'll still have to pay any charges that accrue before you 
close your account or stop using the product or service.

Financial Services Compensation Scheme

We're required to provide you with a copy of the Financial Services 
Compensation Scheme Information Sheet each year. This can be found at

Lending Standards Board

We're also informing you that from 14 December 2024, we'll no longer be a 
member of the Lending Standards Board (a self-regulatory body that oversees 
a voluntary lending code). Whilst we'll no longer be subject to oversight by 
the Lending Standards Board, we remain committed to providing the same high 
level of service for your borrowing needs. You don't need to do anything as 
our withdrawal won't impact the products we provide to you and how they 
operate, or the way we treat you.

The right to end your agreement and close an account without charge doesn't 
apply to the Business Money Market Fixed Deposit Account (to be renamed 
Fixed Term Deposit account) or International Fixed Term Deposit Account. For 
these accounts, the changes won't take effect until your fixed deposit 
matures. For Business Notice Accounts, if you let us know that you do not 
accept the changes, we'll take that as an instruction to serve notice to 
close your account(s) which will therefore close at the end of the notice 
period.

Guide to changes

The following changes will take effect from 11 February 2025.

Business Banking Terms & Conditions

We're making changes to our agreement as set out below.

Part 1 - Relationship Terms




•

We've removed the content about being able to refer complaints to the 
Business Banking Resolution Service because this closed to new complaints 
from 13 December 2024.


Part 2 –Terms & Conditions for your business accounts and related services




•

We're clarifying that you must not share your security details and that we 
won't be liable for any losses if you do;


•

We're removing the content about debit card controls for Business Internet 
Banking as this is no longer available;


•

We're adding wording to explain that once we add the functionality, if 
you're registered for Business Internet Banking and hold a Commercial Card 
account, the Primary User can generate virtual cards using our virtual card 
portal. They can also add controls for virtual card holders, including where 
they can use the card and how much they can spend in a certain period and/or 
a single transaction;


•

We're updating what we'll do if you've been tricked into transferring money 
to a fraudster to reflect recent changes in regulation;


•

We're adding additional wording to explain how you can deposit cash in 
multi-bank ATM deposit machines, and clarified the timing and deposit limits 
that apply to some other cash deposits;


•

We're clarifying that if you don't use your Business Current Accounts, 
Foreign Currency Accounts or, in some cases, your savings accounts for 12 
months, we may close them, restrict payments in or out of them and/or stop 
charging for them; and


•

We're clarifying that some payments may take longer than indicated to reach 
the recipient if this is needed to allow us to complete our checks.


Business Price List




•

We're removing the pricing for Business Text Message Banking from the 
beginning of your first charging cycle that begins on or after 1 January 
2025;


•

We're removing the £6 monthly charge for using international payment 
functionality on Business Internet Banking from the beginning of your first 
charging cycle that begins on or after 11 February 2025;


•

We're adding a new charge of £15 for recalling payments sent by SEPA; and


•

We've included the prices for making and receiving payments 'like a local' 
using Global Wallet.


Business Internet Banking Additional Conditions




•

We're clarifying that the Primary User and all Secondary Users must be 18 
years old or over;


•

We're adding wording to explain that you can register as an Administrator on 
our portal for virtual cards;


•

We're removing the wording about the Primary User being able to set controls 
for debit card holders, as this is no longer available;


•

We're adding wording to explain that Primary Users can approve the 
registration of physical Commercial Cards, approve the generation of virtual 
cards on our virtual card portal and set controls on where and how much they 
can spend in a single period and/or a single transaction;


•

We're clarifying that you must not share your security details and that we 
won't be liable for any losses if you do; and


•

We're removing the reference to 'Click to Call' as this functionality is not 
available.


Business Notice Account Additional Conditions




•

We're clarifying how we refer to the different parts of your agreement if 
there are conflicts between them; and


•

We're removing the reference to 'Green Deposits' as this is no longer a 
feature of the product.


Business Money Market Account Additional Conditions

We've renamed this product to a Fixed Term Deposit account. The terms and 
conditions for the account remain the same except for the changes listed 
below, which won't apply to your existing fixed deposits until they mature 
or are renewed. Please be aware that while none of the changes detailed 
below will take place before 11 February 2025, these changes will occur 
after this date. You'll be given advance warning 30 days and 7 days before 
they take effect.




•

We're clarifying how we refer to the different parts of your agreement if 
there are conflicts between them;


•

We're removing the monthly interest option for when interest is paid on your 
Fixed Term Deposit account;


•

We're removing the ability to withdraw funds early from a Fixed Term Deposit 
account of less than £50,000;


•

We're clarifying how we action renewals on maturity, and the risk of being 
overdrawn if you move funds on that day;


•

We're removing the £100 early breakage charge as early breakages are no 
longer permitted;


•

The minimum balance for a Fixed Term Deposit account has been changed to 
£5,000 for all tenors;


•

We're updating how you can open a Fixed Term Deposit account via the 
introduction of a digital option;


•

We're clarifying how you can give us instructions about what to do with your 
deposit when it matures; and


•

We've removed references to the Business Money Market Call and Notice 
Accounts as these are no longer available.


Business Telephone Banking Additional Conditions




•

We're clarifying that the Primary User and all Additional Users must be 18 
years old or over.


Client Accounts Additional Conditions




•

We're explaining that if you're responsible for holding or managing funds 
for a third party, you agree to take all reasonable steps to make sure that 
the funds you hold or manage are transferred to their executor(s), 
administrator(s) or personal representative(s) if they die, or to your 
successor(s) or other rightful recipient(s) if you cease to be responsible 
for holding or managing their funds for any other reason.


Global Wallet Additional Conditions




•

We've explained that if you access your products and services through 
Business Internet Banking, you can now also fund your Global Wallet 
account(s) from a non-HSBC account in your name using Open Banking.
