DLR
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August
No service between Stratford International and Woolwich Arsenal, and between
Poplar and Beckton
Use Tube, Elizabeth line or national rail services, or local bus routes.
Rail replacement buses will run between Canary Wharf and Gallions Reach (via
Beckton), between Canning Town and King George V, and between Canning Town
and London City Airport. This is while new trains are tested.
Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes over the weekend. We
expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.
Until early August
A40
Until early August, a section of the A40 will be closed westbound overnight
for emergency works in the following phases:
* From 22:00 on Thursday 31 July until 05:00 the following morning - between
Marylebone Flyover and A3220 West Cross Route (Ranelagh Bridge will be
closed so access onto A40 is via the Westway Roundabout)
* From 22:00 until 05:00 each night on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August -
between Marylebone Flyover and Ranelagh Bridge (Ranelagh Bridge will remain
open both nights for access to A40)
Additionally until early August, one westbound lane will be closed 24/7 on
the A40 between Marylebone Flyover and the Gloucester Terrace slip.

* Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich - 14:00 until 23:00, Thursday 31 July
to Saturday 2 August
* Walpole Park - 18:30 until 23:00, Thursday 31 July and Friday 1 August,
and 13:00 until 22:00, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August
* Finsbury Park - 13:00 until 22:00, Friday 1 to Sunday 3 August
* Burgess Park - 15:00 until 22:30, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 August, and
13:00 until 22:30, Sunday 3 August
* Boston Manor Park - 12:00 until 22:00, Saturday 2 August
* Cranford Community College, Hounslow - 11:00 until 22:00, Sunday 3 August
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected for each event.
Friday 1 August
Brixton
From 12:00 until 16:00, a march will take place in Brixton. Large crowds and
increased traffic levels are expected.
Friday 1 until Monday 4 August
A3
From 21:00 on Friday 1 until 06:00 on Monday 4 August, the A3 will be closed
in both directions between the M25 Junction 10 gyratory and Send B2215/A247.

Indoor entertainment venues and stadiums
Music events will take place in the below venues at the following dates and
times:
* Wembley Stadium - 17:45 until 22:45, Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 August
* Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - 17:00 until 22:45, Sunday 3 August
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after each
event, with local road closures in place around stadiums.
Saturday 2 August
Central London
From 09:00 until 17:00, an annual cycling event will take place from Leyton
Sports Ground to Dulwich Park via central London, starting at 10:00. An
event will take place at Dulwich Park until 17:00. Large crowds and
increased traffic levels are expected along the cycling route.
From 08:30 until 21:30, Frith Street will be closed for a street party
taking place from 11:00 until 17:00. Large crowds are expected.
From 11:30 until 16:00, a mobile demonstration and rally will take place,
starting at the Thistle Hotel, Barbican. Large crowds are expected.
Sunday 3 August
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
From 07:00 until 12:00, a 10k run will take place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic
Park. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected, with local
road closures in place around the park.
Central London
From 14:00 until 17:00, a protest will take place at Richmond Terrace. Large
crowds are expected.
Monday 4 August until spring 2027
A23 Streatham Hill
From Monday 4 August, there will be a series of lane restrictions in both
directions on the A23 between the junction with Holmewood Road on Brixton
Hill and the junction with B221 Sternhold Avenue on Streatham Hill.
This is for work on a new permanent road layout to improve walking, cycling
and bus journeys on the A23 Streatham Hill.
If you are travelling in the Streatham area, consider walking or cycling for
shorter journeys. If you're using the A23 for long distance journeys, use
the A24 or A3 instead. Allow more time for your journeys and check before
you travel.
The A23 will be closed between A205 Christchurch Road and B221 Sternhold
Avenue from 22:00 until 05:00 each night on Sunday 3 and Monday 4 August, in
order to safely install traffic management. Signed diversions will be in
place during this closure.

Swiss Cottage Gyratory and South Hampstead
College Crescent will be closed southbound between Buckland Crescent and the
junction of Avenue Road. The northbound lanes will remain open for road
vehicles and cyclists. Works will also take place on Alexandra Road from
Monday 1 until Saturday 20 September.
This is the first phase of a series of road and lane closures around Swiss
Cottage Gyratory and South Hampstead that will take place until Friday 17
July 2026, while HS2 carry out works to divert a gas main ahead of future
tunnelling works.
Diversions will be in place but delays to your journey are expected. Check

A4 Great West Road
Until Saturday 29 November, lane closures will be in place between Boston
Manor Road and Ealing Road.
Bus route E2 will be diverted along the A4 due to vehicle restrictions at
the Windmill Road junction. Journeys along this route may take longer than
usual.

to carry out refurbishment work to the elevated section of the M4.
Until mid-December
Lambeth Bridge
Until mid-December, Lambeth Bridge will be closed eastbound (towards
Lambeth). Westbound traffic (towards Westminster) will be unaffected.
Cyclists travelling from Lambeth to Westminster will be in the traffic lane
across the bridge. Cyclists travelling from Westminster to Lambeth will use
the newly constructed cycleway.
From mid-December, the bridge will re-open in both directions, but works to
complete the scheme will continue until 2026.
For journeys towards Lambeth, bus routes 3, N3 and C10 will be diverted via
Vauxhall Bridge and Westminster Bridge. Bus routes 77, 87, 344 and N87 will
be affected by increased levels of traffic near Lambeth Bridge. Journeys on
these routes may take longer than usual.
Pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge to cross the river.
Use alternative river crossings. This is part of improvement works to
replace the unsignalised roundabouts at either end of Lambeth Bridge with
signal-controlled junctions.
Santander Cycles
The following docking stations will be closed this weekend:
* South Bermondsey station, Bermondsey - until Friday 1 August
* Concert Hall Approach, Waterloo

travelling from Westminster to Lambeth will use the newly constructed =
cycleway. <br>

From mid-December, the bridge will re-open in both =
directions, but works to complete the scheme will continue until =
2026.<br>

For journeys towards Lambeth, bus routes 3, N3 and C10 =
will be diverted via Vauxhall Bridge and Westminster Bridge. Bus routes =
77, 87, 344 and N87 will be affected by increased levels of traffic near =
Lambeth Bridge. Journeys on these routes may take longer than usual.<br>

Pedestrians will still be able to use the bridge to =
