Weekend travel information
Dear Mr Home,
If you are travelling this weekend, there are plenty of options to get
around London.
There are potential planned Tube strikes happening this Sunday and next
week. You can find more details below.

Tube strikes
Planned strike action is expected to affect London Underground services in
November.
Most London Underground lines are not expected to run between Tuesday 5 and
Friday 8 November, and on Tuesday 12 November. Should the action go ahead,
no service is expected on Thursday 7 November.
Full impacts are detailed below:
* Sunday 3 November: London Underground services will finish earlier than
normal. Complete your journey by 17:00
* Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 November: Severe disruption with little to no
service is expected on London Underground services. Any services that do run
are likely to start later and finish earlier than normal
* Thursday 7 November: No London Underground services are expected to run
* Friday 8 November: Severe disruption with little to no service is expected
on London Underground services, including Night Tube. Any services that do
operate are likely to start later and finish earlier than normal
* Saturday 9 November: London Underground services are expected to start
later than normal
* Tuesday 12 November: Severe disruption with little to no service is
expected on London Underground services. Any services that do run are likely
to start later and finish earlier than normal
While other transport services are not on strike, they are expected to be
extremely busy as customers seek alternative routes. Some services may also
be unable to stop at certain stations that serve London Underground lines,
due to possible station closures.

Friday 1 into Saturday 2 November
Friday Night Tube services will not stop at Notting Hill Gate between 02:45
and 04:15
Walk to nearby Queensway/Holland Park stations or use local bus services.
This is in connection with the District line engineering work.
Circle line
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November
No service between Edgware Road and Tower Hill (via Victoria)
Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. This is due to track
work.
District line
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November
No service between Edgware Road/Embankment and Ealing Broadway, Kensington
(Olympia), Richmond and Wimbledon
Use alternative Tube and rail services, or local or replacement bus routes.
This is due to track work.
Piccadilly line
Friday 1 into Saturday 2 November
Friday Night Tube services will not stop at South Kensington station
Use local bus routes to/from nearby Gloucester Road or Knightsbridge
stations for Piccadilly line Night Tube services. This is in connection with
the District line engineering work.
Friday 1 into Saturday 2, and Saturday 2 into Sunday 3 November
Night Tube services will not stop at Earl's Court station between 02:15 and
04:15 each night
Use local bus routes N74 or N97 to/from nearby Gloucester Road for
Piccadilly line Night Tube services. This is in connection with the District
line engineering work.
Monday 4 until Monday 21 November
Westbound trains (towards central London) will not stop at Caledonian Road
station
Eastbound trains (towards Cockfosters) will resume stopping at Caledonian
Road from Friday 1 November.
During these works, step-free access will be maintained, but you will not be
able to use the westbound platform.
You can use the Piccadilly line to travel eastbound from Caledonian Road to
Finsbury Park, where you can change for Piccadilly line services to central
London.
Alternatively, you can use local bus routes 17, 259 or 91 to King's Cross St
Pancras Tube station.
This is while we carry out works to the platforms at Caledonian Road

Until Friday 1 November
No service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction
Use alternative Tube and rail services, or local bus routes. National rail
services will stop at Peckham Rye, Denmark Hill and Clapham Junction. Rail
replacement buses will run between Canada Water and Clapham Junction.
In addition, there will be no Southern Railway services via Peckham Rye,
Tulse Hill and Crystal Palace, with many changes to Southern trains across
south London.
There will be no Thameslink trains between Herne Hill and Sutton/Wimbledon.
This is due to Network Rail resignalling work.

Sunday 3 November
No service between Gospel Oak and Stratford until 11:45
Use alternative Tube or London Overground services, or local bus routes.
Rail replacement buses will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford. For
Caledonian Road & Barnsbury, use local bus route 274 to/from Camden or walk
to/from Highbury & Islington. This is due to Network Rail maintenance work.
No service between Woodgrange Park and Barking Riverside
Use the District line for Barking and local bus route EL1 for Barking
Riverside. Rail replacement buses will run. This is due to Network Rail
track work.
Monday 4 until Thursday 7 November
No southbound service from Sydenham to West Croydon after 22:15 each night
Use Southern Railway services, or local bus routes. This is due to Network
Rail maintenance work.
Elizabeth line
Sunday 3 November
Reduced service between Paddington and Maidenhead/Heathrow
Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing. This is
due to Network Rail maintenance works.
Monday 4 until Wednesday 6 November
Reduced service between Paddington and Heathrow/Maidenhead after 22:00 each
night
Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing after 22:30
each night. This is due to Network Rail Thames Valley works.
DLR
Until Sunday 3 November
Reduced service on the DLR network
This is due to construction work taking place at Beckton depot to provide
additional power, tracks and maintenance facilities for new DLR trains.
London Trams
Saturday 2 November
No service between Reeves Corner and Beckenham Junction, Elmers End, West
Croydon or New Addington after 20:30
Tram services will continue to run between Wimbledon and Reeves Corner. This
is due to essential engineering work on the tram network.
Sunday 3 November
No service between Reeves Corner and East Croydon
Tram services will continue to run between Wimbledon and Reeves Corner, and
between East Croydon and New Addington/Beckenham Junction/Elmers End. This
is due to essential engineering work on the tram network.
Buses and roads
Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes this weekend. We
expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.
Thursday 31 October until Sunday 3 November
City of London
From 08:00 until 21:00 each day, an environmental protest will be taking
place across the City of London. Large crowds, increased traffic levels and
delays are expected.
Thursday 31 October
Camden
From 09:00 until 23:00, John Street will be closed between Northington
Street and Roger Street for a Halloween event. No bus routes will be
affected. Large crowds are expected.
Neasden
From 09:00 until 23:00, there will be a lane closure joining the A406 for a
fireworks display. Increased traffic levels are expected.
Friday 1 November
Alexandra Palace
From 18:30 until 22:30, Alexandra Palace will host a fireworks display.
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the
event.
Friday 1 until Sunday 3 November
Tottenham Hale
From 19:00 on Friday until 03:00 the following morning, from 13:00 until
22:30 on Saturday, and from 13:00 until 22:00 on Sunday, Drumsheds will host
a music event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Saturday 2 November
Central London
From 12:00 until 16:00, a mobile protest will take place, starting at
Whitehall and finishing at Nine Elms. Large crowds are expected.
O2 Arena
From 15:00 until 23:00, the O2 Arena will host a sporting event. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Twickenham Stadium
From 14:00 until 18:00, Twickenham Stadium will host a rugby match, with
kick off at 15:10. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected
before and after the event.
Morden
From 17:15 until 22:00, Morden Park will host a fireworks display. Large
crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November
Waterloo Bridge
From 08:00 on Saturday until 16:00 on Sunday, Waterloo Bridge will be closed
southbound.
During this time, the below routes will be diverted, or stop short of their
destination:
* 1, 59, 68, 76, 139, 172, 176, 188, 243, 341, N1, N68, N171 and N343 will
be diverted or stop short of their destinations
* 76 will not serve Waterloo - buses will start and finish from Aldwych
* 139 will not serve Waterloo - buses will start and finish from Trafalgar
Square
* 172 will not serve Aldwych - buses will start and finish from Waterloo
* 1, 59, 68, 139, 176 188, 243, N1, N68, and N171 will serve all stops on
diversion via Westminster Bridge
* 341 and N343 will serve all stops on diversion via Blackfriars Bridge
This is due to road resurfacing works.
Battersea Park
From 18:00 until 23:00 each night, Battersea Park will host a fireworks
display. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and
after the events.
Saturday 2 until Thursday 7 November
A406 Gunnersbury Avenue
From 20:00 on Saturday 2 until Thursday 7 November, the A406 Gunnersbury
Avenue will be closed northbound between Chiswick Roundabout and Popes Lane,
with a signed diversion route in place. This is due to emergency Thames
Water works.

crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Southall
From 11:00 until 18:00, a religious procession will take place in Southall.
Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.
Monday 4 November until late 2025
A3220 Battersea Bridge Road
There will be a series of lane restrictions affecting Battersea Bridge Road
across Battersea Bridge, between Cambridge Road on the south side and Cheyne
Walk on the north.
Work will start at the junction with Cambridge Road and progress north one
junction at a time. This is while we deliver the Battersea Bridge safety
improvements scheme. Some local roads will also be closed where required,
with signed diversions in place.

There will be a series of full and directional closures on the A1 Upper
Street between Highbury Corner and A501 Pentonville Road junction on the
following dates. This is due to carriageway resurfacing works.
Full closures will take place between 20:00 and 06:00 on the following
dates:
* Between Monday 4 and Thursday 7 November
* Between Monday 11 and Thursday 14 November
Directional closures will take place at the following times:
* Northbound closure between 08:00 on Sunday 3 and 06:00 on Monday 4
November
* Southbound closure between 08:00 on Sunday 17 and 06:00 on Monday 18
November
Diversions will be in place for drivers, as well as some bus routes. During
these closures, if you are driving or taking the bus through the area then
