First F5L model I've built, although I made some mistakes in the building the model is now flying beautifully. I initially went with the DYS D2225-19 and the VitaProp 8x4 on a 3S setup, it's fine, but I wanted a bit more speed to get around the sky and the DualSky 8x5.5 was perfect. It still climbs well, but also gives the model a bit more speed.
The model flies well and responds to lift well. I got 200mm of 10mm brass rod cut up into 30mm lengths to use for ballast (complete with wooden spacers). the total weight of the cut up brass is about 120g.
The thing I'd change is I'd probably have a slightly larger fin/rudder to have more authority at low speed.
