Neil,
This is the first one that has ever gone missing via post and I don't
really see a trend. What I have done is registered on AusPost for a
parcel locker which will make things more streamlined at my end.
My new postal address is:

They state this is good for parcels up to 16kg and no larger than 35 x
44 x 61cm and I am sure this one will not reach that, as no booms or
covering.

It's a very topical subject, power systems. I do see a trend towards
smaller 18 size motors with high Kv and very small props. I have been
doing some testing and have had excellent results on the 2M Encanto (big
fan), with the XM2532EG-11 with 7x4 prop. I reduce power to ~60% for a
nice steady climb to 150m in 28sec or steep climb and reach 150m in
23sec. It also allows for fast level flight to position well before
final climb. The Medina and Oz E-RES are other examples using the 18mm
high Kv drone motors.
I was using lower Kv and larger props but for the 2.0-2.6m comp gliders
I am now convinced that higher Kv and smaller props provides a good
alternative. One of my friends actually uses the XM2532EG-9 2700Kv motor
but not sure that's needed, as it is hard to beat the setup in my
Encanto. At some time in the future (post Xmas) I will get my test bed
with thrust, Volts & Current plotting to get some good comparisons and
tune the setup better. I consider RC to be a good use of a long career
in electronics and engineering.
