"Houston, we have a problem"

...so ..
1.) I plugged it in to my practice amp and it went scritch scratch ,snap cr=
ackle pop boom boom bang.
2.) then I changed the lead and it still went scritch scratch ,snap crackle=
 pop boom boom bang.
3.) then i thew the lead away and tried another lead and it went scritch sc=
ratch ,snap crackle pop boom boom bang.
4.) then I thought it must be my practice amp and decided as it's quite old=
 it must be de-funked and I'll take to the tip.
5.)Then I got another guitar and plugged that in, and it worked ok
6.) then I tried the bass again and had the same problem with the new lead
7.) then I dug out my fender rumble amp 500 from deep in storage at home (3=
0 mins) I bought from you and tried with the same lead still no good.
8.) Then I tried a third lead, and it located in the guitar jack positively=
 and both the practice amp and the rumble 500 worked perfectly.
9.) then I moved the lead around a bit and the scritch scratch ,snap crackl=
e pop boom boom bang came back again!
10.) then I thought -oh my god I do so hope the electronics in the bass are=
 not "spannered"

Conclusion-the input jack socket on the fender bass is "weary" and needs re=
placing.

Now I've got a 40-mile round trip back to see you to get it fixed.

Can you have everything ready to replace the input jack on the bass please =
so I can wait while you fix it please.
