Ran following after exporting the certificate from Windows:

Private key was extracted from certificate using:
Export to .pfx file using following instructions:
http://www.digicert.com/ssl-support/pfx-import-export-iis-7.htm

Copied the file to the secondary server and ran openssl:
D:\SSL Certificates\itp>d:\bin\openssl\bin\openssl pkcs12 -in exported.pfx -out created_from_openssl.cer -nodes
Enter Import Password:

use these two files in hMailServer to set certificate
(copy and paste from created_from_openssl.cer to separate files)
