10:45am-11:30am Discussed problem with Neil. Tried it on Neil's PC. Worked fine. Table tblDutyPeriod didn't show AM/PM at end. Changing system time to have AM/PM (:tt) at the end. the system still worked. Phoned Sybille, asked her to change the time from HH:mm:ss to HH:mm:ss:tt and back again. Didn't work on faster PC, but worked on the slow cloned one. Asked her to change time on fast PC to HH:mm:ss:tt then reboot. Then changed back to HH:mm:ss and reboot. This fixed the problem.

Went over to fix problem with Tim's PC Internet connection. Tried various things. Changing second DNS setting on Netgear router fixed the problem. Don't know why. Couldn't ping anything before even by IP address.
Could be a problem with the router itself. Decided next time to replace the Netgear router with an Edimax one. The Peugeot network uses the same gateway and was fine. So fault must be with the Netgear router.

Link between Events and Syndicates not allow certain records to be show. Because they're added special C16 etc. events that have no record in Syndicates. Removing the automatically placed link between Events and Syndicates solved the problem.

Nigel phoned to explain a problem which happens 2 or 3 times a week.
They seem to get an error and lose the connection to the server on every PC.
The only thing that fixes this is rebooting the server.
He will phone me next time this happens.
I checked event log and found that IAMS is crashing. Emailed IAMS (Jeff Moll).
Last time it happened was Thursday 28/7/05.

Tested it here, was fine, also phoned her back and got her to add a warranty job, it worked fine too. She phoned later to say it might be having when previous warrany job is still in WIP and hasn't yet been archived, so they get a keyviolation.

Invalid use of null error. In a clone. A sector record had a sector group id not in in the Sector Group table. Adding a new record to Sector Group table fixed the problem.

Another query already! We have imported a clone ok but when we click on
calculate an error message appears - TMS Error Handler: Overflow. If you
click on ok the cursor goes back to an hourglass then the error message
appears again. Click on Ok and it appears a rhird time. If you then click on
OK it seems to finish calculating and you can run reports as usual. Now does
this mean everything is ok or does it mean the clone is up the spout? I bet
I know the answer to that.....
My reply:
Hi Bill,
I've looked at the data and found that some of the item records in this clone have a zero or a blank value in the Volume field. See attached jpeg. This is causing the software to divide by zero, which you can't do.
You'll need to correct this data. Obviously you can't have zero volume.

1:40pm-4:20pm Went to Verdict to sort problem on Nicola's. Was fine when I got there. Access Reports was giving "Read Only Error". Access Report app doesn't work on Neil's PC. Tried various things, inc installed IE5.5. Reinstalling Access Runtime 97. Still gives "Active X Control" error. DAO350.dll doesn't register. Installed reports on another slow PC.

Problem with email. Keep getting loads of email. As it it's the same email going around in a loop. A temp user had sent an email to loads of people. Must have confused some mailservers. He had received 14,000 emails. Mailserver crashed. I used Outlook to pick up email. Then deleted 12 emails which might be causing problems. There were still another 51 email waiting to be picked up.

A customer having date problems, they had put the date forwards and the backwards, and wasn't letting them log back in. It uses the date of the last audit record to detect this condition to stop users from putting the date back. Got around it by logging in the future date, then changing date to today's date while in the program, then create an audit record by printing or add to log. Next time it will let you in with today's date.
