Hi Ian,
I've tried your amp on and off throughout but it still isn't doing
anything it shouldn't. So I tried hooking it up to a 1x12 Aguila cab,
and that made quite a difference to the volume and the SPL. Just by
adding another speaker not only gives you the full output but also an
extra 3 db of SPL which is almost like adding an extra 50% of power and
would probably be the most cost-effective option, the only downside is
carrying another cab around.
The only thing we have in stock at the moment that has more wattage than
the Ampeg is a Fender Rumble 800 2x10 combo but again you only get the
full 800w when adding an extension cab.
You are of course welcome to come in and try the Fender and Ampeg side
by side, also try an extension cab on each.
In the meantime, we'll carry on giving your amp a good run too.
