Keynote speakers include:

Hilary Tompsett (Chair, Education Working Group, SWRB) - Emerging themes and issues from the ongoing work of the Social Work Reform Board

Hugh Mc Laughlin (Professor of Social Work, Manchester Metropolitan University) - NQSW

Neil Thompson – Well being, Surviving change (Practice Educators role in helping students to develop emotional resilience)

There will also be the opportunity to attend 2 workshops during the course of the day

Workshops include:

• Is social work education life changing? A workshop that explores the impact of social work education on the person themselves – Mel Hughes
• Emotional impact of working with students with difficulties (Practice Educator perspective)- Gill Brown, Joanna Collis and Lindsey Shakoori
• Experience of Placements in the Private, Voluntary and Independent sectors – Jo Tulloch
• Critical reflection/supervision – Neil Thompson
• Emotional Resilience – Louise Grant

Stands (including books, leaflets and general information) will also be on display over the course of the Conference from Kirwin MacLean, Learning Matters, BASW and others.
